I love the game of hunt the ribbon containing the function I need. Its remarkable how difficult finding things is compared to the consistency of menus in office 97-2003.Originally posted by Spacecadet View PostWhat's people impressions of office 2010 so far?
Microsoft argues thats it easier for new users. shame about the impact it has on existing users.merely at clientco for the entertainment -
I've been using office 2007 for a couple of years now and I'm one of those weirdos who prefers the ribbon. Its actually more consistent as users can't mess around with the layout.Originally posted by eek View PostI love the game of hunt the ribbon containing the function I need. Compared to 2007, or compared to older versions? The ribbon is hardly a new feature.Originally posted by Spacecadet View PostWhat's people impressions of office 2010 so far?Originally posted by MaryPoppinsI'd still not breastfeed a naziOriginally posted by vetranUrine is quite nourishingComment

Generally, I know the ribbon has been added to the rest of the office suite.Originally posted by d000hg View PostCompared to 2007, or compared to older versions? The ribbon is hardly a new feature.
In terms of compatibility, new features, old features which have been dropped how is it?Coffee's for closersComment

I've jumped from Office 2003 and with Word and Excel I haven't had any problems so far. I tend not to use complex layouts or functionality int those apps. So not and issue. Outlook works "properly" now with IMAP servers, thumbs up there. But Access is really difficult to use now. I had customised the menus and being as I spent a lot of time in it - as I develop solutions in it - I now find myself utterly lost sometimes!McCoy: "Medical men are trained in logic."

If you can't keep up, get out of the game.
