Nobody who likes a well-designed UI recommends Gimp - it sucks big time. I only use it because it's free and it's got some very powerful capabilities if you can only work out where the damn thing has hidden them. I've sussed out how to do the fairly limited number of things I need, but I spend much of my time with it muttering "Oh FFS" under my breath

          +1 for Paint .Net.
In case you ever find it short on functionality there are a LOT of plug-ins available for it from the forums...

Karen's Replicator - If only I discovered this 4 months ago.

I still use acronis, but only for imaging partitions.

First thing in my inbox this morning was a Security Update (see Apple's Security-announce mailing list) mentioning iTunes, so I ran Software Update and iTunes 10 was ready and waiting to come down.

Update 4 for iWork was also available. Details at iWork: About the iWork 9.0.4 update.

                  No reboot necessary

No idea, that's the first time I've heard of it.

I came across KR while investigating corrupted acronis .tib files.

Lot's of responses mentioning KR, none mentioning ST.
