As the article I linked to pointed out, Microsoft don't call it GodMode, so if you just type it into Explorer's location bar it won't find anything of that name on the system, and will decide you probably wanted something from the web instead.
Once the shortcut exists, Explorer (well, the Windows shell to be precise) will find that on your machine and assume that's what you wanted to open.Comment

Yes, I meant Windows Explorer.
Just checked and after typing it into Windows Explorer and it resolving and then clicking into the address field it displays the patch which is actually to the icon I had created previously on my desktop.
i.e. C:\Users\Username\Desktop\GodModeComment
