Yes, I meant Windows Explorer.
Just checked and after typing it into Windows Explorer and it resolving and then clicking into the address field it displays the patch which is actually to the icon I had created previously on my desktop.
i.e. C:\Users\Username\Desktop\GodMode

As the article I linked to pointed out, Microsoft don't call it GodMode, so if you just type it into Explorer's location bar it won't find anything of that name on the system, and will decide you probably wanted something from the web instead.
Once the shortcut exists, Explorer (well, the Windows shell to be precise) will find that on your machine and assume that's what you wanted to open.

With your new found God mode, you can easily find the setting to stop itOriginally posted by PAH View PostOtherwise it must be a setting somewhere in Windows that is giving us this inconsistent behaviour.
Let me know when you have some success

My guess is the shortcut via windows explorer only works once you've set up the folder on your desktop.Originally posted by Spacecadet View PostIt does the same if you enter it into windows explorer

I'd be careful what you type in then.
Maybe he meant you need to type it into the search box on the start menu. Though that doesn't work for me anymore than yours did.
