You need to ask yourself, what would scooterscot do?

    After that it's simple.

I never 'got' Mac's until i bought a Mini to mess around with and found it is actually great.

I'd go for the Mac, great bit of hardware. Plus with an app like Parallels installed you'll be able to run any Windows apps you need from within OSX so there's no real productivity limitations.

Until they fix Parallels 5, version 3 worked fine no problems whatsoever and what did they do? fix it some more now it's fubar.

Get the Mac, 24" or 27".

You'll worry about the money up until about 5 mins after you start using it. Then you'll wonder why the hell you didnt do it before.

What about drivers for peripherals. I am guessing I will need to download the Mac version of the driver, are these available, for instance for my lexmark wireless scanner/printer etc

I only upgrade to 5 because snow leopard needed it. But it's still buggy although reading the Parallels forums the guys are working on it 24/7

You'll not regret purchasing a Mac takes a few weeks to get used too but once the windows effect wares off you'll be wonder why you din't do so before.
