Get the 27" top of the line iMac, then buy the ram to upgrade it from Crucial. Simples.

I've had the 24" i Mac (white) for 4-5 years now, stills runs as fast as the first day I bought it, I would love to move to the 27" but I just cannot justify it.

Why can't my mac just fail,

I used Leopard on a brand new MacBook 13" Core 2 Duo at ClientCo two years ago, and it put me off upgrading my own MacBook Core Duo: there were a few points at which it felt as if it was overstraining the machine, and a few bugs (although this was version 10.5.1, later 10.5.2 IIRC).

Given that Snow Leopard was primarily focused on performance improvements, and I needed at least Leopard for iPhone development, I recently upgraded my MacBook and can say that even on this comparatively old machine, Snow Leopard is excellent

When I got my MacBook I ordered the RAM upgrade from Crucial's UK web site at about half four in the afternoon. It arrived in the first post the next morning

Guru, is there anything that anyone could say ever that would ever elicit anything other than a churlish response from you.

And if you have an older Mac, Crucial have a downloadable app (CrucialMacScanner) which tells you exactly what sort of memory your system needs and how much it can take.
