What these guys said... the site is the worst ever.

I still think the pack is worth the money though.

As for the test, I took the SQL Server Sales course, even though I'm techy, its got the fewest questions, and it was really easy. Got the 75% I needed without reading any of the pre-text I was supposed to read. You can google anything you don't know during the test...

Finally got round to doing this and it wasn't as bad as I had envisaged.

I completed a course called WVC30PAL: Windows 7 Professional and Windows XP Mode for Partners which was all about upselling to SME's from Win 7 Home to Win 7 Pro!!

Got 80% without any knowledge but it was pretty straightforward.

Strange thing was when I started the course I expected a video or similar with a presentation and then the questions thereafter but it went straight into the questions which is why I got 2 wrong - they were specific to the presentation.

e.g. How many PC's worldwide are able to run Win 7 Pro??

Anyway, done and dusted for the next 2 years.

        Got my Action Pack today.

Quick question for those who already have one - I noticed the software does not have an associated Product Key.

        Is this correct?

I noticed there were no keys with the windows 7 dvd. If you can find the download section on the maps/partner site there is also a page containing all your product keys.

Action Pack is turning into tulip - they don't show keys to old OSes

              Great, thanks.

              Logged on and found them.

Initially thought they had changed the software so it was similar to volume licensing where no key is required during install.

when it says "for internal use" how does that work for software like Exchange Server? the mail gateway would need to be external facing...

Or is that how they screw you for full licence costs?
I didn't say it was your ******* fault, I said I was blaming you!

I believe it means internal to your company.

e.g. if you provide consultancy services on MS products, you couldn't sell on these licenses if you were hired by a third party, for example, to setup an email server.

WCS. If you're using Exchange Server for development purposes, there's no need for it to be external-facing; you can do all your development and testing on your internal network, then pay for a full licence when you want to actually use it such that it's accessible over t'Internet.

Of course we all know that simply isn't true and you need to develop and test using the actual Internet, but MS's business model is still stuck in the Stone Age where you can only use Windows for Workgroups 3.11 on one machine each decade. If you query it they'll probably just tell you to use Windows Live Mail, aka Hotmail, soon to be BingMail

I am pretty sure under Action Pack it is allowed to use Exchange product for real emails etc - otherwise it's totally worthless. Action Pack is designed not just for resellers to try products but also for people who develop using Micrisoft technologies.

Action Pack conditions are getting worse though - now they moved to online only unless you pay extra, those DVDs they shipped were handy
