It is difficult. I come from a long line of farmers so I'm genetically disposed to hoard stuff.
I still have things my grandfather thought would 'come in handy one day'
... and haven't.....

Otherwise the trouble is you end up living in a scrapyard.
I've recently had to 'defragment' my house to make room to redecorate.
You need to be able to completely empty one room. Decorate that.
Shift all the Sh1t ^H^H^H^H antiques back into it and move on to the next.Comment

Until a couple of years ago, I still had an old IBM system 36 in the cellar at home - it kept the house warm.
Took 7 of us to get the bugger out of the house.
Still have an 8" floppy drive in the attic....
