Just plugged the fliper in and it now says iPhone is in recovery mode and only gives me the restore option warning me all my media and other data will be erased. Superb.

Dont believe it, mines all gone pear shaped. Got 3/4 of the way through the update then iTunes threw up an error saying the update had failed.

The phone would no longer do anything bar show a picture of a USB plug and iTunes logo when switched on.

Let it recover and then re-sync and all should be well.

Yup, all seems to have restored fine, even the game saves and recent calls list which i thought may be lost.

Is tethering not extra cash?

hmmm....deleted one app, downloaded it again, all apps now work

All working fine for me including tethering.

If I want to add tethering to a different PC/laptop do I have to install the whole of iTunes on each PC just to get the modem/LAN driver or are the drivers available separately?

I've tried a few Google and forum searches but nothing so far.
