It's seen the new nano but has told me I'm not authorised to download the bought songs from itunes - and to add insult to injury it won't load a software update either.

How many times have the songs from iTunes been downloaded (I think you have the rights to do it 5 times)Originally posted by cojak View PostIt's seen the new nano but has told me I'm not authorised to download the bought songs from itunes - and to add insult to injury it won't load a software update either.Every Saint has a past, Every Sinner a future"

The description is "The iPod "Cojak's IPod" cannot be synced. An unknown error occurred (-124).""I can put any old tat in my sig, put quotes around it and attribute to someone of whom I've heard, to make it sound true."

That was my conclusion too - plenty of people reporting the problem but no solutions other than some references to conflicting drivers.Originally posted by tino View Postsearched for it on the apple forums, it doesn't look good - no real fix for it from what I can see
Where are we going? And what’s with this hand basket?Comment

Personally, I'd take it right back to John Lewis and get it replacedOriginally posted by cojak View Postthanks for looking, tino..Every Saint has a past, Every Sinner a future"

OK - so sorted out the -124 problem by turning off and on the Apple Mobile Device in Services.
Sorted out the non-syncing problem by pulling out the (powered) hub and plugging directly into the motherboard usb.
And it appears to be syncing my itune songs despite the pop-up box saying otherwise, but will confirm this once it's finished...Last edited by cojak; 27 April 2009, 16:10."I can put any old tat in my sig, put quotes around it and attribute to someone of whom I've heard, to make it sound true."

I think that JL are well aware of the software issues around the new ipod...Originally posted by tino View PostPersonally, I'd take it right back to John Lewis and get it replaced
The hardware is ok - it's not their fault that the rest of it is a pile of tulipe...
