Can you plug a Mac into a non-mac monitor?

Looking at treating myself to a PowerMac in the new year, but don't really like the look and spec of the Apple Monitors

Do you *have* to have a Mac Monitor? Or can you plug into any old one?
Politicians are wonderfull people, as long as they stay away from things they don't understand, like working for a living!

You mean a MacPro right? Yes you can use a standard monitor.

Anything DVI compatible will be fine.

Or even VGA - you just need the appropriate adapter to convert it from DVI (which you need anyway if giving presentations with the average office or conference venue projector).
