And yes, it probably is captured on a server somewhere if they are using any kind of web filtering service and there is not much that you can do about that, well not legally anyway.

So, on that basis, you could delete it all and that would have the same effect as just deleting the references to Jobserve...

It really ****ing annoys me that when I miss-type a url, the next time I try to go to the same site I get auto prompted with my previous miss-typing.

Because even if you use the delete history option built in IE doesnt actually get rid of everything, just the reference to it. The data is still there if you know where to look.

Assuming that the OP has done something sufficiently incriminating that just deleteing the history won't work, or would look too obvious, you need a tool to do it.

ccleaner does the trick for me...
