On IE6 is it possible to selectively delete history in the address window? I know all the history can be deleted. But is it possible just to delete a couple of the addresses?

You can't do it directly, it all gets stored in the history.dat file and the registry in propriatry format as per the usual MS way. There are tools that will let you do it. Give this one a try since it's free. http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/iehv.htmlOriginally posted by oxtailsoup View PostOn IE6 is it possible to selectively delete history in the address window? Sorry if it is dumb question, but why not delete all and save the ones you want as favourites?"If you can read this, thank a teacher....and since it's in English, thank a soldier"Comment

Because even if you use the delete history option built in IE doesnt actually get rid of everything, just the reference to it. The data is still there if you know where to look.Originally posted by daviejones View PostSorry if it is dumb question, but why not delete all and save the ones you want as favourites?
Assuming that the OP has done something sufficiently incriminating that just deleteing the history won't work, or would look too obvious, you need a tool to do it."Being nice costs nothing and sometimes gets you extra bacon" - Pondlife.Comment

We are talking Jobserve references...hardly cracking the Whitehouse though."If you can read this, thank a teacher....and since it's in English, thank a soldier"Comment

Surely if this is any sizable business, it's going to be logged on some server anyway?? I wouldn't worry - only known one place I've worked that actually checked - and it was a sweatshop data conversion place.Comment

True, but if personal web browsing in office hours is a no-no then it could be enough to get him into hot water, for example.Originally posted by daviejones View PostWe are talking Jobserve references...hardly cracking the Whitehouse though.
And yes, it probably is captured on a server somewhere if they are using any kind of web filtering service and there is not much that you can do about that, well not legally anyway."Being nice costs nothing and sometimes gets you extra bacon" - Pondlife.Comment
