Someone has to know more than I do, about this...

    Folks,

    I have a quick question.

I need to develop (or, more to the point, have developed) an application for the iPaq (or similar) - if I were doing this on a PC, it might be possible to do it using Access Forms, due to the nature of the req'ts.

It basically needs to present the operator with a set of questions; the answers being selected from a drop down, or added via free text.

WTF O/S do these things run? - WTF (language) does one develop apps in for them?

Thanks in advance all - feel free to slag me off for being stupid, etc.

what language are you familiar in? and what are you trying to do? you could use .net CE, C++ embedded, or even J2ME

(sorry, i know, ask a question and you want answers, not more questions!)

        .net isn't a programming language.

A Google search for "ipaq developer" leads (unsurprisingly) to HP's iPaq developer site, where you will find "documentation, SDKs, forums, loaner programs, and support directly from the iPAQ engineers themselves." That's probably a good place to start.

As said above you can go for visual studio with compact framework in VB.net or C# or you could use an off the shelf form builder like http://www.syware.com/

Thanks ever so much for your help folks - I appreciate it.

In answer to one of the questions, I'm not familiar with any language so will have to pay to get this developed.

NickFitz - you don't seem to be overly helpful.

What's unhelpful about a link to the definitive source of information on the topic you asked about?

                  No, but it's the future.

SAP mobile. Runs on all PDAs/smartphones, and is perfeck for what you want.
