    Energy efficient lightbulbs and dimmers

Anyone got these to work together yet?

I bought 6 wall lights, fitted them and then realised that the bloody energy efficient bulbs wouldn't work with my dimmer switch!

They cannot be dimmed. Try wearing sunglasses indoors for a similar effect.

Bzzzzt! wrong! They can be dimmed, but required a special ballast, dimmer switch and - potentially - special wiring.

Google around, there's plenty of info on this.

        And special electricity too.

All to save 4p on your electricity bill.

Alternatively use a candelabra. When you want to dim the lights just blow a few out! Saves electricity too!

Just change the bulb for a more energy efficient (lower power) one.
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.

These bulbs can be dimmed easily by painting them black. The dimmer you want, the more black you add. Simple.

              I preferred version 1!

Come and live in fecking Thame, Oxon. Every coont's got about 5 security lights blazing away on their house; never need to switch a light on again.
