A thermometer for my room which will also connect to Alexa, etc?

I am struggling to find what seems like a really obvious thing.. a room thermometer with a visible display, which will also link to Alexa/Google so I can check the temperature remotely.

I can find smart thermostats but I don't want it to control anything and I don't want yet another app. Maybe I need to just get a £5 digital thermometer and separately a smart temperature sensor, but it seems frustrating. Maybe I'm just searching for the wrong thing.

How do you propose doing this without an app to read the information....?

We use Hive, both on the phones and tablets and with Alexa if we're being really lazy. I suspect (but don't know) the latest AV versions of Alexa can show the temperature in real time. But in reality, we leave it to its programmed settings.

The Drayton Wiser system will work with Alexa, and should you decide to do anything other than look at the temperature, you've already got a thermostat controller!

Don't devices have a way to iterface directly to Alexa, no common protocols? Lots of smart-plugs seem to

Well yes, they can, if there is a "skill" - something created by the supplier to act as the interface - in the Alexa library of such things (and there's hundreds of them, some quite obscure). I merely query the value of this particular exercise, but that's just my opinion.

Our house is warm enough for us. Precisely how warm is irrelevant!

            I've used Tado before.

No idea if it connects to Alexa because I refuse to have that spyware in my house.
