    Alexa devices

I currently have an Amazon Echo Dot. It works well and im happy with it.
Amazon have a Black Friday deal on the all singing all dancing Amazon Alexa Show at £44. is it worth the upgrade?

I've got an Amazon show in my kitchen and it does what you expect. I think I paid about 44 second hand and had a lot of trouble getting the device moved over to my account. I finally called Amazon customer service on the phone ( !!?) and they fixed it. The screen is handy for recipes, but it does tend to show you a bunch of junk all day long. My kid made some custom acttions like "Shut down" to turn off the screen and "play the radio" to play BBC4.

We got a show for the video conferencing and checking door bell stuff. Does it all and was pretty fun and impressive out of the box but just never incorporated it in to our daily routine so it ended up just being used for the odd task and music.

I'd say, if there is some specific feature you've seen that you could integrate in to your life and be an improvement then try it. If you are just getting one because you hear it does all sorts of stuff and might be cool I'd say don't.

That said, I paid more for ours and for £44 we had some fun with it but we did end up giving away as it was just a bit of unused tech kicking around. I don't think I wasted/lost money on it though. You could just play with it for a few months just to see what it does and you'll have got 44 quids worth of entertainment out of it. I've wasted a hell of a lot more on stuff to see if it works and not used it so not the worst investment I've made by a long chalk.

              Well it arrived last night.
I have to say very impressed so far.
Especially impressed with less faff on the doorbell and cameras.
"Alexa show me camera one" works a treat.
Sound quality for music very good too.
