    Where do you buy RAM?

Crucial has a neat tool to find memory that will work in your PC but if you know what you want, where is the best place to go? Is there an online specialist who lets you set the exact spec you need and shows you all compatible chips, or is Amazon the best bet like with most things?

I'd still use Crucial. Their prices are good, and I was very impressed when I placed an order at about 4:30pm and received the delivery the following morning - even Amazon can't manage that.

I don't think I've bought RAM anywhere else in the past 15 years at least.

+1 for Crucial, ordered some late Thursday night and it was through my postbox on Saturday morning, RAM upgrade completed by Saturday afternoon.

The only issue there is they don't have a dedicated RAM section allowing you to search efficiently. I spotted Crucial RAM and SSDs cheaper on Amazon than on Crucial's website, about 10% cheaper in fact. And that's before delivery, Amazon will next-day it for free (for Prime members) but Crucial want £10 for next day, or £4 for 1-2 days (which 90% of the time is next day, I'll grant you).

I use a memory checker to determine the correct RAM and Amazon get the order, based on price, delivery and the free return option if it's incorrect. Next day service is amazing.

Like the majority on this thread I buy from crucial directly, their service has always been fantastic.
