So, Aperture and El Capitan are not good friends.
This makes photo editing a bit difficult because the image on screen was washed out and posterised, but the actual image was not affected.
Apple "Photos" does not use the same library structure as Aperture, so all the nice albums/folders I had configured to make my workflow easier disappeared when I tried to import the library into Photos. Thankfully when I restored it in Aperture it was still there.
After a few days of pain, I found a solution online to the image problem. In Aperture go to the View menu then switch off "Onscreen Proofing". Hey presto, problem solved.
500 more photos left to edit from the holiday.

Installed it yesterday along with the update patch.
Haven't spotted any issues yet. It's still connected to the wifi.
I have Office 2011 installed but hardly ever used.
Will be doing a lot of photo editing over the next few weeks so I'll see how it copes.

Ok, starting to have issues now!
Office 2016 is trying to access the custom dictionary of 2011 but having permission errors
Also if I have Outlook + Word or Excel left open (I don't quit applications just close them) they frequently freeze and go "Not responding"

No El Capitan nasties encountered (yet), but I don't use Office or Wifi (I use Wifi from my router for the iPad).
My USB headphones have crapped out a few times since the upgrade though. The associated audio device goes missing in the way it would if I unplugged them. Unplugging / replugging usually works except for the one time; I was on the way to a reboot to fix that when it miraculously came back, so it might have been closing an audio-aware app (which one???) which did the trick.
I'm seeing lots of complaints about Mail.app but I don't use it myself.
A few command line (Terminal) bits and pieces I'd installed myself got moved to /Library/SystemMigration/History/ but I'd already migrated the ones I'm interested in to use pkgsrc, which thus far I can recommend.Last edited by Sysman; 11 October 2015, 17:08.

It's funny that mine was fine, until the weekend, both my machines started crapping out - I was sure it was my ISP but it wasn't. Reverted to Mavericks on one and went wired on the iMac and all is ok - it's deffo a WiFi issue, when it happens you see there is nothing at all in the Wifi Pane in system Preferences.Originally posted by ShandyDrinker View PostEl Capitan seems to have a number of issues... my MacBook Pro (about 5 months old) now drains the battery quite quickly even when in sleep mode.
Tried 10.11.1 Beta 3 and made no difference.
