I wouldn't diss this idea completely guys, founder has a point.
While I can't see it working for contractors as a group (see SimonMac, above), I would have a dig around Discord Servers if I were you (particularly the techies amongst us).
I would imagine that there's a treasure trove of learning and networks in there to be discovered.

There is several Slack workplaces for freelancers/contractors, all start with good intentions but then die due to lack of activity or worse forced activity!
