Morning.
Saturday.
Restless night for some reason: including trying to remember my batphone number at about 04:30 for no readily apparent reason.
Some of the restlessness might have been due to the intermittently howling gale.
Wet.
Grey.
Sunless.
Windy.
Chilly in here at 12.9 deg, 12 in the kitchen, 10 in the leanto.
982.5 mBar, 29 in Hg, 736.94 Torr, 14.25 psi, (up from 978.5 last night), 66% RH (Lidl electric).
Meanwhile on the 13th of March 2020 covbob, AndyGarbs, eek, SimonMac, LondonManc, and LM popped in, whilst there was much sniffing & coughing in the computer room in the library in preparation for the Great Toilet Roll hunt.

In Stalingrad, the Russians have encircled the Germans, much to the surprise and dismay of the latter. And it’s still only the start of December! Plenty of winter to come yet…
Goodnight all

Afternoon denizens
Another grey day, though not rainy, or not at the moment. It’s supposed to be a bit breezy but the minimal motion of the trees suggests that they may be exaggerating when saying the present 7°C, which is the high for the day, “feels like” -2°. The barometers are down a little more at 973/981mB

Afternoon all
Dull and damp again. Currently 8 degrees ('feels like' 6) with a high of 9 expected. Sunshine and showers apparently. Barometer down to 985 mBar.
Sunrise 07:52; Sunset 16:35 GMT
So much for a quiet day today. I was hoping to clock off about now but, no, more actual work required.

WTF?
Morning.
Friday.
Wet.
Grey.
Sunless.
Chilly in here at 12.9 deg, 12 deg in the kitchen, 10.5 in the leanto.
977 mBar, 28.85 in Hg, 732.8 Torr, 14.17 psi, (down from 981 last night), 63% RH (Lidl electric).
And now the 13th of March 2020 will remain a mystery.
Lunch: brunch. Entertainment: someone waffling about alcohol free wines & beers. Someone else waffling on about trust.
Book.
Foyle's War S4 E2 "Bad Blood": the anthrax one.
Walk (abbreviated, towpath) walked in the grey gloom.
I see we're about to have Yet More ******* Windmills. Obviously someone's crossed someone's palm with silver in the talking shoppe in Cardiff. And there'll be another 32 of the ******* shortly. The Sirius Cybernetics Marketing Executives solution sounds like A Good Idea.
Tea: chicken in white sauce etc. Entertainment: PM etc.
Vanished Wales: Criggion transmitter site, Powys: back up for Rugby: 1942 to 2003. Guildford Crescent, Cardiff: swimming baths, Thai Restaurant, Gwidhw etc. demolished for redevelopment. Deganwy Bathing Pool (open air, sea water).
Taggart. S6 E1,2,3 "Evil Eye".Last edited by DoctorStrangelove; Yesterday, 19:33.

TFIF, etc
Full wet weather gear earlier as it was raining and windy. The first 45 mins of the walk were like that, but as we turned for home the rain eased. There are some breaks in the ominous low clouds revealing higher clouds that look a smidgen less ominous.

Tonight’s major motion picture wasn’t a premiere, but it was Watchmen (2009), and the full three and a half hour version to boot. I first watched this a couple of years ago, but I think I might even buy the book because it’s a very good film but there’s probably bits in the book that they missed out
And then a couple more episodes of Hijack which is also very good
Goodnight all

Nahjongy thing this morning. Really tired earlier after another *** night's sleep but felt much better after a brisk walky.
Managed to copy that occasional odd CUK thing at top:

Another week done!
I spent some time mucking around with some React.js stuff this afternoon. The other dev had done a chunk of the work, and they know React better than I do, so I wanted to check I’d be able to understand how things worked well enough to be able to carry on with it next week when they’ll be busy with something else - better to badger them with questions today rather than distracting them then! But I seem to have reached the “just about adequate at React” stage, as I was able to get some rather neat bits added to the UI without hassling them at all

Lunch has been the last bit of pork pie
Bit sick of it by now TBH. I shouldn’t buy the big ones, but if I get the smaller ones I tend to eat them all in one go
The rain came but seems to have gone, though there’s a 55% likelihood of it returning at teatime
And before lunch I found time to unmake the bed, so that's now airing and will be remade this evening with a new set of bedding I got from M&S recently
