Meanwhile on the lawn a few minutes ago, there were NINE magpies ditzing around in and near the flowerbed!

Most of them seemed like juveniles, so I’m wondering if our young ones have gone and formed a gang with the rest of the local posse

Tea: chicken in white sauce etc. Nice enough. Entertainment: PM <click> TPTV "Look at Life: Letting off steam (1959)": the replacement of steam engines by diesel electric (diesel hydraulic in Western Region just to be different) and electric locomotives. Even managed to show a Deltic loco. And, apparently, the new breeder reactor at Dounreay would be supplying power for the electric ones. . Ah, them were the days, when the FBR was a coming thing.

It's getting very dark again, though the lightning site doesn't show anything imminent here.

Bit of Bab5 S1 E10. Not one of my favourites. Strewth, a lot of those actors have popped their clogs.

Currently 23C out, I should have gone out for our walk at 04:15, but didn't go until 05:30. Now cooling off at my desk with the blackout blinds drawn to stay cool.
One of the great things about WfH in this weather is "business from the waist up". It's definitely a day for shorts.

Tedious drive down to Sussex. I'm guessing a lot of people wanted out of London today.

Mum spent most of the afternoon complaining about a noisy bird that she said was making a ticking noise but to me it sounded more like a chuh chuh chuh noise.

The drive home was uneventful and I found a parking spot that wasn't under a tree.

The duvet cover was dry when I got back (I put it outside before I left this morning) and the WM has just finished with the mattress protector.

Dinner will be Dishoom leftovers.

Oh the shame of spelling it wrong, I didn't notice that when I posted. I'm going to blame autocorrect (or autoeffitup, as I like to call it).

I assumed it was autocorrect so I kept an eye out when composing my post, and it tried to do the same to me!

Tea has been a pork cutlet with chips and beans, mainly because the beans have been sitting in the fridge for nearly a week so I wanted to use them up

Bit warm today; I’m not looking forward to the rest of the week. And we’re not getting it anywhere near as bad as London

Just back from me son's place, he cooked a nice Father's Day Tea. Had a lounge on the patio earlier this afternoon, rather noisy - squealy kid 2 doors up, planes flying over from Gatwick, steam train chuffing through me village and whistling. Still, not as bad as me next door neighbour mowing his lawn with his chug, chug, chug, chug old mower.
