    Morning.

    Saturday. Last Fair day.

Wet. Torrentially wet overnight (or very windy).

    Dark.

    Dank.

    Dreary.

    Nice rainbow just now.

Cooler in here at 17.4 deg, 17 deg in the kitchen, 16 deg in the leanto.

1001 mBar, 29.56 in Hg, 750.8 Torr, 14.52 psi, (down from 1002 last night), 70% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 15th of February 2020 Brillo & scruff popped in, NF visited the Chinese (which was very nice), and I watched Highlander II and III.

Tonight's major motion picture premiere was The Foreigner (2017) in which an elderly Jackie Chan is hell bent on revenge after his daughter is killed by a bomb planted by a renegade nouveau IRA unit. But does he have a special set of skills…? I thought this was excellent, bringing revenge and action tropes together in a very dark political thriller. Highly recommended

And then Resident Evil: The Final Chapter (2016) which is a fitting ending to the saga

Finally, I decided to rewatch The Adjustment Bureau (2011) for no other reason than that I like it. I really ought to get around to reading the Philip K. Dick short story on which it, as with so many good films, is based

    Goodnight all

I know! I should just leave it on, and let the thermostat deal with matters. I think I'll do that in future, as I've also realised that deciding something like that based on date rather than conditions is ridiculous

Lunch has been a roast pork and apple sauce bap (wholemeal)

With that done, I set to work preparing some large boxes and other packaging for recycling. I tend to let this stuff accumulate, until eventually it's getting in the way and I finally deal with it

So once I'd found the Stanley knife, which I'd left other than in its usual place on a bookshelf in the living room, I carved the boxes up into small bits which could easily be packed into recycling bags and topped up with cardboard envelopes from Amazon. Once I had two well-stuffed bags, I took them over to the recycling bins. First time I've been over there in a while, as I now habitually put stuff out for the management company people to take away in the morning; but these would have inconvenienced them, as they only bring one recycling bin and one general waste bin with them as they tour around the three blocks, and these were almost a bin load on their own

Returning, and with the dishwasher having finished the load I set it to work on earlier, it was time to get the mundane laundry on

Volunteer litter picky thing this morning, loony lady 1 walk later. Lucky with weather yet again, nice and bright until I got into the car when it started pouring down. Finished just before I got home. Can't be coincidence, the weather god likes me, unlike the traffic god.

    Today's meeting has been done.

Laundry has been done - smalls and tops. All draped over the airer. Now onto jeans.

'Brunch' is a slice of toast with an egg on top.

    Morning denizens

It's a cloudy day out, and judging by the undulations of the sycamore it's also quite windy. The current 14°C "feels like" 9°, apparently, and presumably the expected high of 16° won't feel much better. The barometers are back up a bit at 996/1004mB

I'd noticed my feet getting a bit cold over the last few nights so I chucked one of the furry throws over the bed last night, that being easier than digging out the two-thirds duvet. Result: feet not cold. I suppose I should go to the trouble of getting that duvet out as a longer term solution, but that'll do for now

With no shopping to do, I'm planning to do a bit of sorting out of some stuff around the flat. For a start, various things that have ended up adjacent to radiators will have to be moved, thrown out, or taken to the tip. I had wondered if I could make it to the Autumnal Equinox before putting the heating back on, but the forecast for the next week has me thinking it might be going on sooner

    Morning.

    Friday.

    Grey.

    Sunny.

    Blue sky.

    Cloudy.

    Dry.

    Torrential.

Cooler in here at 17.9 deg, 18 in the kitchen, 17 in the leanto.

1003 mBar, 29.62 in Hg, 752.3 Torr, 14.55 psi, (up from 999.5 last night), 71% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 15th of February 2020 AndyGarbs, Anonimouse, Scruff and BR14 popped in, I had an unusual way of turning off Nish Kumar on the wireless, xogg was preparing for a power cut by laying a fire and finding the gas burner, whilst NF noted that the shops across the way, aside from the Polish cafe, were closing early due to the inclemency of the weather, wind wise, while STIV was finished with, onwards to Highlander II, the ruination.

Amazingly enough, despite waking at 06:30, sleep returned & final awakening occurred at 08:50. Quite satisfying.

Oh, and looking out of the window, the full on murrain of beasts is currently heading up the valley.

Lunch: brunch. Entertainment: the Food programme. The 11:45 thing. Green crap about environmentally friendly steel production. Should go <click> fairly promptly.

Freecell score: 83%, running average: 84%.

    Someone finked out the shooter.

Tea: Mr Brains faggots with peas etc.

    Entertainment: the statistics thing, PM.

    Nothing on the idiot lantern.

Freecell score: 67%, running average: 84%. WTF?

    Book.
