I managed a bit of mucking around with the SwiftUI stuff this evening. This app’s starting to look as if it might be usable one day

And I also read some more of The Jane Austen Project, in which the tension builds as the time travellers ingratiate themselves with the Austens, and particularly Jane

    Goodnight all

Tea has been chicken madras with rice and naan

Just a mini-naan though, as lunch seems to have been quite filling

This was accompanied by the first half of E2 of 999: What Happened Next on 4, featuring a bloke who stabbed a complete stranger in Peterborough, and a chap in Wales who crashed his car, killing his young female passenger, and then drank four bottles of Peroni in rapid succession while waiting for the police to arrive. I doubt that’ll do him much good, as nowadays they do all kinds of calculations of the rate at which you metabolise the booze and get convictions that way

    Evening all

The day started off sunny and then clouded over. Currently 8 degrees ('feels like ' 5) and the high was 11. Rain expected overnight. Barometer down to 995 mBar.

    Sunrise 07:26; Sunset 17:05 GMT

Many meetings today. Then a review of a dashboard to see if it looked like the requirements.

Lunch: turkey soup with a crust of wholemeal

Sunny out now! Still quite a few clouds about, but it’s verging towards the Simpsonesque

    Morning.

    Monday.

    Grey.

    Damp.

    Sunless.

    Dreary.

Chilly in here at 13.4 deg, 12.5 in the kitchen, 11.5 in the leanto.

993 mBar, 29.3232 in Hg, 744.8 Torr, 14.4 psi, (down from 996 last night), 66% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 16th of March 2020 WTFH's Mrs was off on a secret mission, DaveB's dog was unwell, BR14, AndGarbs and LM popped in, NF was irritated that appointments with the GP were now only available on the phone, and posited the theory that covid was A Cunning Plan by receptionists to kill us all off, the Final Solution to the irritating patients problem.. Whilst discussions were ongoing regarding the carpet shop lights timer.

Yet another dream of working somewhere I didn't want to be, though this was improved by imminent redundancy and, curiously, cream cakes.

Shopping trip to Morrisons done dusted washed dried sanitised & put away.

Walk (abbreviated, towpath) walked in the grey gloom.

Lunch: brunch. Entertainment: thing at 11:45. Y&Y <click>

Foyle's War S7 E3 "Sunflower". The SS one. I'd have thunk he'd be more likely to be SD but there you go.

    Book. Other book.

Tea: chilli con carne with rice. Nice enough enhanced with extra chilli. Entertainment: some irritating oik waffling, followed by PM with a different irritating oik waffling, to the extent that it went <click> <click> <click> a lot. 18 o'clock news.

Blaze: oak island nutjobbery. S11 E22 "Abbey Road". No zebra crossing found. The cast button with a starburst pattern makes up for it. Tedious Italian visit with the usual Templar bollox.

NCIS S22 E4: I wonder how crap this ep will be. .

Forbidden History: more bulltulip from Blaze.

Heavy rain overnight, but the forecast rain for this morning has not arrived yet, so our walk was muddy underfoot, cloudy but dry overhead.

    Morning denizens

It’s cloudy out, but like yesterday seems as if it might be willing to indulge us in the occasional, brief sunny spell - despite the 45% chance of a spot of rain in the next hour or so. The wind is, apparently, gusty and making the current 6°C “feel like” 2°; the day’s high will be 9° through much of the afternoon, and it’ll be a mild night, not dipping below 6°. The barometers are down a touch at 988/996mB

The ongoing poking around in the new forum software continued this afternoon. And I also spent a bit of time on a Mac app I’d got bogged down with a while ago, where it turned out the time away from it had been sufficient for me to be able to make good progress
