Quite windy out.
Very relaxed day had; nothing notable done.

Tea was brought from the South Indian place past the park. Very nice too
The cloud’s cleared quite a bit here, though I think there was a bit of drizzle this afternoon so it looks slightly damp out there

Afternoon denizens
Cloudy again here, and still somewhat breezy. It’s 16°C, which is the high for the day, but “feels like” 12°; the barometers have reversed course and are down to 991/998mB

Afternoon all
Damp from early morning rain. Overcast. Currently 15 degrees with a high of 26 expected. More rain forecast, although there may be a bit of sunshine later. Barometer down to 1005 mBar.
Sunrise 04:46; Sunset 21:14 BST
HWMBO went home yesterday afternoon. He'll be back in a few weeks.
I opted for a lie in instead of getting myself to Twickers, and rescheduled the plasma donation early this morning before settling down for a bit more sleep.

Ye canna change the laws of Physics, Captain.
.
Morning.
Saturday.
Damp.
Blue sky in parts.
Sunny.
Breezy.
18.6 in here, 19 in the kitchen, 16.5 in the leanto.
994.5 mBar, 29.37 in Hg, 745.9 Torr, 14.424 psi, (down from 1002 last night), 68% RH (Lidl electric).
Meanwhile on the 29th of March 2020 there was much discussion of sourdough with LM, SimonMac, scruff and WTFH contributing, with NF popping in, and me remarking on the jackdaws squabbling on the roof.
In a change for the better today's dream before waking involved some ?
? observer from elsewhere/elsewhen/elsesideways doing a bit of the Equalizer type stuff, though parking the machine at 30,000 feet seemed foolish in the extreme due to ongoing traffic, so 70,000 feet it was. Liked half pints of dark too.
. Then I woke up. It seemed almost good enough to make a script.
It's rained: I knew the blue sky & sun was too good to be true. Now it's that very fine drizzle that's wetter than a deluge.
Lunch: brunch.
Book.
Freecell score: 50%, running average: 84%. Might as well not have bothered: approaching wall punching by the end of it.
Walk (unabbreviated, towpath) walked in the wan sunshine to start, drizzle for the final half mile.
For those innerested in skinwalkers there's this:

Tonight’s motion picture premiere was Barbarian (2022). TBH I only watched this because it’s “free” on Netflix but won’t be in a week or so, and people have spoken highly of it. It’s one of those horror movies where bad things happen to good people, of which there seem to be so many these days. Perhaps it’s a reflection of the times we live in? Anyway, it’s a very good example of its genre; which is just a fancy way of saying that if you like that kind of thing, it’s the kind of thing you’ll like
But while I don’t mind that kind of thing from time to time, one can have too much of it and feel in need of a bit of positivity. And with that in mind, I rewatched The Martian (2015) because that’s all about staying positive in the face of adversity, without needing to bring in gimmicks like somebody trying to eat the hero’s face
Finally, the next episode of Silo, Machines (TV Episode 2023) which was very good because much of it was about mechanical engineering under time and steam pressure, which is always fun - though they did play fast and loose with the laws of physics, which real mechanical engineers know is a very bad idea
Goodnight all

Tea has been homemade BBQ ribs, with chips
Still mostly cloudy out, but not in a rainy way
The magpie parents seem very protective this year. The other morning, one of them chivvied some pigeons that happened to be standing near the flowerbed when the young ones wanted to play in it, though only to the extent of making them move a few feet further away. And while they were playing there again this afternoon, a squirrel had wandered in from just past our block and was minding its own business down by one of the parked cars, not even heading for the big lawn, when the Dad came up and chased it off the way it had come

Lunch has been the rest of the cold cocktail sausages
A bit late getting it though, as I was engrossed in mucking about with new forum stuff

Gawd! Knocked over my mug of coffee and it spilled onto an extension lead and triggered the RCD in the garage. Now I've got to go round setting all the clocks again.
Lone day today, loony lady 1 has got a hospital appt.

Morning denizens.
CBS here with some wispy clouds. Quite different from yesterday morning...
Not much on here today, pretty empty in the calendar as befits a Friday.

Morning denizens
It’s a cloudy day, though there’s some blue gaps to the west so maybe it’ll brighten up later, though the app doesn’t think so. The wind is a lot lighter but the current temperature of 12° still “feels like” 8°; the expected high is 16°, and the barometers are heading back up at 998/1006mB

Morning.
Friday apparently.
Dry (currently).
Blue sky in parts.
Wanly sunny.
18.7 deg in here, 19.5 in the kitchen, 17 in the leanto, 14 in the saltinghouse.
1004.7 mBar, 29.67 in Hg, 753.6 Torr, 14.57 psi, (up from 1000 last night), 65% RH (Lidl electric).
Meanwhile on the 29th of March 2020 as the plague progresses WTFH was sleeping on his own, I went shopping, and BR14, LM, NF, and scruff popped in, whilst BR14 received a delivery of groceries from a mate who also delivered to his lady friend.
Awakened unbidden at 06:15 with one of those lovely work dreams again FFS. This one was about designing some radio or other. Very odd. And I was working away just to make it even better. Chucked it in & woke up to find it was all Just A Dream.
Washing frenzy in progress.
Twinged my back picking up the wash basket: what with the bad knees and a sore back I am truly fecked & not in a good way. Ho very hum.
It rained: shirts in the TD and iRoned: now airing upstairs. The rest of it is still out on the line in the sunshine.
Unlike last week when a sweat band might have been required in the saltinghouse, today I needed a jumper. And I closed the door to keep the draught out.
Entertainment: the Archive Hour: Alistair Cooke from 1999.
Lunch: brunch. Entertainment: the above (continued).
Everything in off the line, that requiring the iRon received it, all airing upstairs now.
Walk (unabbreviated, towpath) walked in the sunshine.
"They" have been doing stuff to the leak in the canal. Huge pile of clay dumped near/over it.
Timed it right coz the drizzle has just commenced.
Very
now. Maybe I should have abbreviated the walk.
Tea: chicken in white sauce etc. Nice enough. Entertainment: PM.
Last ep of this series of The News Quiz.
Taggart S12 E4,5,6 "Devil's advocate". First hour was tedious court case. It livened up a bit on 5 & 6.
I see that Babylon 5 is returning on the Leg End channel as of next Monday which may be of innerest to some. It's the last best hope for victory!Last edited by DoctorStrangelove; Yesterday, 22:50.

This evening’s viewing was E3 of Legends
And in The Middle Kingdoms, things went from bad to worse in the years up to 1945. But here comes Stalin, so maybe things will get better now?
