Tea has been a bit of the beef & Hobgoblin stout pie out of the freezer, with chips

Nice evening out there now. Looking at the forecast, I see it's going to turn warm and even hot over the coming week. I may have to switch to the two-thirds duvet

    Home again!

The big box of newspapers and magazines had vanished, so somebody else must have taken on the business of sorting through it. At least I hope they did, rather than just chucking it

I ended up gathering together some of the few remaining books though, including a weighty tome in an illustrated slipcase entitled The Meccano Magazine Anthology, which asserts that it contains over 400 compete articles including the entirety of 1934

Uneventful drive down. Some rain en route. Sunnier on the coast with blue sky and lumpy fluff.

Mum doesn't remember eating this morning so I'm making her fish, chips and beans for a non-traditional Sunday lunch.

There's very little food in the house and she doesn't have a shopping list, which isn't a good development.

    Morning Afternoon.

    Dry.

    Sunny.

    Blue sky.

Chilly in here at 13.6 deg, 13 deg in the kitchen, 13.5 in the leanto.

1003.7 mBar, 29.64 in Hg, 752.8 Torr, 14.557 psi, (up from 1000 last night), 77% RH (GDR hair), 67% RH (Lidl electric).

Walk (unabbreviated) walked in the sunshine: nowhere near as cold as yesterday when scarf & gloves remaining in place from start to finish, today the scarf was removed about halfway, and the gloves stayed in the pocket.

Lunch: beans on toast etc. during which a filling departed from a molar. Oh deep & abiding joy.

Meanwhile on the 22nd of September 2019 it was sunny for me and grim & raining for NF, while the jackdaws were tap dancing on the chimney again, whereas NF couldn't decide what to have for dinner.

Freecell score: 88%, running average: 86%.

Entertainment: BTCC on ITV4/4+1. Lots of crashes & suchlike. Haven't watched this for years. Are Frank Sytner & John Cleland still in it? .

More bollox on Blaze: Conspiracy theories: Fort Knox empty of gold but full of flying saucers. etc. etc. etc.

Tea: soup etc. soft to preserve what teeth I have left after the earlier trauma.

The Georgia Guidestones: unfortunately they've been blown up since despite all the camera monitoring.

Beyond Skinwalker Ranch: more bollox but not at Skinwalker: The Ranch With A Hum.

    Skinwalker Ranch. The Blob.

National Park Mysteries bollox: Lassen Volcanic Nat Park. Canyonland N. Park.

    Megadisasters: Toxic Cloud.

Megadisasters: British Superflood. WTF? Doggerland. .

    Lunch: a pancetta omelette

Been a while since I had one of those. I wouldn't want one every week, but it makes a nice change

Looks like the rain has just about gone both here and at my destination, so I might head off shortly.

    Morning denizens

Gloomy, grey, rainy day out there today

It's still not warm either, being 4°C and maybe getting to 11° later. The barometers are down a touch at 989/997mB. But the rain may stop after lunch, so I'll see how things are then and may still head south at that point

    Morning all

Dull and damp. There's been much rain overnight and this morning with more due for the rest of the day. Currently 7 degrees ('feels like' 4) with a high of 12 expected. Barometer continues down to 1002 mBar.

The decorator is back, finishing off yesterday's jobs. If he stops chatting long enough, he might be finished before I leave to visit Mum.

In exciting news, I've just spotted a wren using the bird box I put in the garden last year! Gathering bits and bobs for a nest.

The usual wildlife selection filled the day, including Monkey Life in which the Argentinian chimp Sacha seems to be settling in well, though her brother is being a bit more reserved

Early night now as I might pop down south tomorrow. There's not much left to sort out at my parents' house, but one thing still there last time I was down was a box or two full of old newspapers, at least some of which are Liverpool papers from my Dad's time as a journalist and probably contain news stories by him. It's possible my brother has already been through them, but if not, I'd like to grab them - don't want them to just go into the recycling if there might be something in them

Rain, however, has arrived, and the radar suggests there'll be more of it before there's less. So I'll see what conditions are like in the morning. With the lighter evenings, I could even go down after work during the week and be back by dusk

    Goodnight all

Tea has been from the kebab shop

The refurbishment doesn't seem to have been particularly extensive - maybe a lick of paint on the walls, though of course more might have been done in the back room where the pizza ovens live

Started packing! I filled two small boxes with some recipe/cook books.

Also started the process of freezer emptying with a chicken kiev and chips dinner.

The decorator has done a number of jobs but finished none as they all require time to dry. So he's gone off and will return tomorrow, at 8am. That means the office and conservatory will remain in disarray for another day but the moving around of stuff has given me opportunity to have a bit of a clean up in areas that otherwise might not see the light of day until I move out...

The sun has made an unforecast appearance through the cloud but it's still set to be beaten back by the rain, the arrival of which has been pushed back an hour it would seem.

Now to decide about that visit to my storage place. I'd rather take something with me and not go there with an empty car. However, the prime candidates are boxes of stuff that are in the cupboards in the office, which are inaccessible at present. I think I can see where this is going!

Phone call from the GP (well, one of the pharmacists there) which I'd forgotten I was expecting some time this morning

All test results are apparently OK, except one of the thyroid function ones is a bit low, so they want to repeat that one but in a more detailed form or something like that. Upon investigation, I find that symptoms of hypothyroidism include tiredness and weight gain. Might be nice to have something other than old age and indolence to blame them on
