Morning.
Friday apparently.
Dry.
Grey.
Gloomy.
Wanly (very wanly) sunny.
Cool in here at 17.3 deg, 18 deg in the kitchen, 16.5 deg in the leanto.
1015 and a tad mBar, 29.9788388 in Hg, 761.4626 Torr, 14.7242 psi, (unchanged bar half a tad from last night), 78% RH (GDR hair), 66% RH (LIdl electric).
Meanwhile on the 7th of October 2019 NF found it to be grey and showery and rather warmer than it is today, whereas it became wetter and more unpleasant as the day wore on.Last edited by DoctorStrangelove; Today, 07:13.

Morning denizens
Sunny start again, though the open sky overnight brought the temperature down a bit. It's back up to 10°C and expected to reach 18° by late afternoon, while the barometers are up a little more at 1006/1014mB
But most importantly: Friday!

Tonight 's viewing was a new 24 Hours in Police Custody
And later reading was a return to Montaillou, the village in the Pyrenees with more than its fair share of Cathars.
Friday tomorrow!
Goodnight all

Afternoon all
Depending on when I look out of the window, it's either blue sky with occasional fluff or much fluff. Currently 18 degrees and that's the high for the day. Barometer up a bit to 1017 mBar.
Working this afternoon instead of this morning to attend a meeting that's just been cancelled.
This morning I called BT to cancel my business broadband and telephone line as the contract is up next month. Lovely Weegie lady dealt with it all without any fuss.

Back in ye mysts of tyme when it was a Grammar it was 09:00 to 16:30 IIRC (which I probably don't, it was possibly 08:45 start, then half an hour spent godbothering for no readily apparent reason).
Is it yet another example of following the septic insanity?
Stone me, according to this some of them are in at 06:30 for breakfast club:

We only had afternoon lessons on Monday and Friday. Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday afternoons were sport, and Wednesday the Cadet Force or, in my case, other approved activities

It's a bit of a gamble heading over there very early nowadays, as her husband has terminal cancer and she told me when it started, a year or more ago, that she'll be taking a goodly chunk of time off work when the end comes. But he's hanging in there, assisted by some experimental drug apparently, and there weren't any other early customers, so I was sorted out quick sharp
I was surprised by the amount of traffic on the way over, and then there was less on the way back. Given I also saw some school kids in uniform walking, I assume it was school traffic. School started at nine or a little before in my day, so I don't know what kind of eight o'clock nightmare they're inflicting on kids nowadays

Morning.
Thursday judging by the tinkle of glass meeting the recycling truck.
Dry.
Wanly sunny.
Blue sky.
Cool in here at 17.5 deg, 18 deg in the kitchen, 17 deg in the leanto.
1013 mBar, 29.913 in Hg, 759.8 Torr, 14.692323 psi, (up from 1012 last night), 78% RH (GDR hair), 69% RH (Lidl electric).
Meanwhile on the 6th of October 2019 BR14 declared he was fond of chillies, couscous etc, whereas NF had chicken & chips, and I had kippers (presumably stinking the house out thereby), NF followed with Fun With Maps on the telly and more Breaking Bad, as I partook of yet more Jeremiah S2.
Walk (unabbreviated) walked in the grey gloom/wan sunshine (with not much of the latter).
No sign of the swans & cygnets on the fishpond, two swans & five or six cygnets on the first pond.
Lunch: baked spud etc.
Entertainment: what feckwhit thought that putting "The bottom line" (calm down Xogg) on at noon was A Good Idea? Followed by Sliced Bread waffling on about contact lenses.
The BM theft thing at 13:45.
Veronica Mars S3 E4 "Charlie don't surf". I love the smell of napalm in the morning. I have no recall of these S3 eps.
Bugger. My mate is now on palliative care. Ho hum.
Tea: soup etc.
Entertainment: refilling some little oil bottles with some of the engine oil that's lived in the garage for decades & will never be used. Good enough to oil hinges & the like. Bit cheaper than buying another little bottle of 3in1.
Entertainment: PM.
Talking Pictures: "The Road to D Day: On the beaches", includes Richard Todd who was a para who dropped on Pegasus Bridge.
Had a brief look at "The Science of D Day" on BBC4 but the wobbly camera style caused a rapid <click>
Freecell score: 70%, running average: 86%.
Gave up on "The Book of Wales" that I found in a box: it's off to Oxfam unread. Especially the poetry. I don't do poetry.
"The History of Wales" by John Davies is proving a bit problematic too, having progressed from the iceage to about 800A.D. it is proving a little dry. And the chapters are loooooong which is irritating.

Morning all
Before going out earlier I felt a couple of spits of rain, so put on a light coat, which was completely unnecessary. Blue skies & sunshine all the way.
PM3 has weighed in to the debate again about my travel and PM2 is now scrambling to explain his actions and lack thereof.

Morning denizens
Sunny start, though the weather app insists it's mostly cloudy, so the sun must be getting through the gap. Currently 10°C and striving to reach 16° this afternoon, while the barometers are up to 1004/1012mB

Authorisation still not arrived, but much hilarity has occurred that for another trip, I asked which hotel the client had a special deal at, and got no response so I booked myself into a well known chain where I used to have a black card. A few hours later I was told that I should not have used that hotel as it is too expensive and that the client has a rate at another chain. The client special is £10 per night more than the rate I got. I have offered to book the other contractors into my hotel at my rate. The PMO are unhappy that I have saved the project a few pounds. I’m happy to get some extra points.
Anyway, TFBSZ. Maybe tomorrow I’ll be given the go ahead to book the next trip.
