Well, it's at the shop. I'll go and collect it tomorrow, when I have plenty of time

Damn it, the clutch on me little van is acting up again. Had to drive last 1/2 mile home last night in 2nd gear. Can't find a local garage who can do anything for nearly 3 weeks. Only good thing in life is that I got a Viz in Smiths yesterday.

    Morning.

    Thursday.

    Damp.

    Dreary.

    Grey.

    Misty.

    Wanly sunny.

Chilly in here at 14.7 deg, 13 in the kitchen, 13.5 in the leanto.

1018.5 mBar, 30.07 in Hg, 763.93 Torr, 14.772 psi, (down from 1020 last night), 61% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 5th of January 2019, BR14 popped in, whilst NF followed on from watching "Predator (1987)" with "The Final Countdown (1979)" which someone had described as having "too many planes taking off & landing", whereas it was all misty & moisty, grey & grim around here. Bit like today really.

Walk (unabbreviated) walked: saw my shadow twice, in between it drizzled that fine rain that's wetter than wet.

    Lunch: brunch.

Entertainment: the last 2 minutes of "The Infinite Monkey Cage" ep 200 followed by <click> when some oik started rapping away. Turned out to be about armed robbery. Leave it out, guvnor.

I seem to have forgotten to bid TPD good night! In my defence, I came over all of a slump again after reading a chapter of Caledonian Road (not the book's fault, it was the lurgy) and went to bed quite early while feeling extremely tired

Today is another grey but mild start, being 7°C going on 15° again. The barometers are down a little to 1009/1017mB. No precipitation anticipated today, though

Lunch has been half a large Dickinson & Morris pork pie

I didn't feel too bad for much of this morning. Then just before lunch, I came over all of a slump. I'd just been working on something; not going to make that mistake again

Luckily, the stuff that needs to be done this afternoon can be done by the others while I cheer them on from the sidelines. And there's the weekly departmental meeting mid-afternoon, which I use as an excuse to grab a coffee and some biscuits and do nothing for an hour or so

    Morning Afternoon.

    Wednesday.

    Dry.

    Sunny.

    Blue sky.

Cool in here at 15.1 deg, 15 in the kitchen, 13.5 in the leanto, 10 in the salting house.

1021 mBar, 30.15 in Hg, 765.8 Torr, 14.81 psi, (up from 1020 last night), 59% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 4th of January 2020 BR 14 popped in & was a tad grumpy (with reason), and watched a thing about Clive James Postcard from London, followed by his interview with Mary Beard whilst he was dying, and NF got around to watching "predator (1987)" again.

    Washing frenzy in progress.

Walk (unabbreviated) walked in the sunshine. Weeded the parents' and brother's grave.

    Lunch: brunch.

Entertainment: Y&Y waffling on about something.

More work on next door's shed: fixed the bottom of door jamb a bit more firmly to the rest of the crumbling structure and removed a large ivy creeper that was in the way. Indoor ivy in the shed, it's a thing in that shed. Even dug the circular saw out & used that to cut the new half rotten bit of wood I installed rather than the ancient ripsaw I used yesterday.

Managed to ignore him & her next door by hiding in the garage as they walked past to avoid saying things I couldn't take back.

Hope he appreciates the £1 I'm leaving him in my will against the £300k for his sister.

Not that I've ever been known to bear a grudge. Much. After all the dissector of human remains is still above ground as far as I'm aware. .

Now outside a mediocre cup of Tesco instant coffee so feeling a bit better.

Tea: chicken in white sauce etc.

    Entertainment: PM <click>

Thing on PBS about the Kennedys: Bobby post 22 November 1963.

Thing about War Machine: WWII: in the air. Oh look, the septics did almost everything. .

    Maigret The Vanishing M. Owen.

    Morning all

Blue sky and lumps of fluff. Currently 13 degrees with a high of 16 expected. The fluff may wane as the day progresses. Barometer up to 1026 mBar.

    Sunrise 05:50; Sunset 18:25

The butter I bought at the farmers' market tastes different to the one I normally buy from the supermarket. I expected this but it's also requiring recalibration. The toasted hot cross bun is no worse off.

    Morning denizens

Cloudy start, but dry and expected to clear up later. It's 5°C with a goal of 15°, and the barometers are up a bit more at 1014/1022mB

The lurgy doesn't seem to be any worse, though I don't think it's any better either. Feeling very physically tired already, which isn't a good sign considering all I've done is get up, shower, and make coffee

I managed to read some more of Caledonian Road. Just worked out that I'm about a seventh of the way through, so I'll need to speed up a bit if I'm to finish it any time soon

The lurgy, whatever it may be, has me feeling extremely run down. But I don't think it's got any worse today, and the paracetamol seems to be keeping the worst at bay

    Goodnight all
