    Morning denizens

A warm and sunny start again, being already up to 19°C and aiming for 27° by mid-afternoon. The barometers are down though, at 1008/1013mB

Last night's switch to the one-third duvet proved to be a smart move, as although it was still a bit too warm to start with, it seemed to be about right when the daylight coming in woke me up at a quarter to five. I pulled the blind back down, and it didn't feel too hot for the next couple of hours

Tonight's viewing was an old Police Interceptors, just for a change

It's too warm but with nightfall, the perfume of the neighbourhood flowers has started drifting through the bedroom window

    Goodnight all

I've performed an emergency transition to the lightweight duvet. Probably still too warm, but I vaguely hope for it to cool down a bit in here overnight

Oh and the workmen on the pavement this morning were fixing the connection twixt house and whatever is under the man hole cover. It looks like a bit of glorified tube has been laid along the wall but if that's all that I need then it's fine by me.

Now I need to get the installation technician back as soon as possible after I get home from holiday.

The landlady said nothing about the floor but then she seemed to think that the check out report was intended to give her a maintenance to do list, not validation that I'd looked after the place. I suspect I'll hear in due course what she wants to do about it.

While I was there she had a new range oven fitted and had gardeners digging out the bamboo. All things she'd ignored while I was there but which were suddenly worth doing for people willing to pay £300 a month more. The oven cost her £2200 so she'll break even on that in about 7 months' time.

Then I went to the cafe wot does hotdesking, had a nice lunch and got quite a bit of work done. A tad noisy but no-one on the team weekly call said they had trouble hearing me or that the muzak was too much.

The walk home at 5pm was considerably warm, at 28 degrees.

Lunch: a sandwich (white) of chicken bits in what was described as a "sweet and smoky" BBQ sauce; plus a bag of plain crisps. Nice enough, but could do with a bit more oomph

    Morning all

Sunny with lumps of fluff. Already 23 degrees with the high expected to be 26. Barometer up to 1022 mBar.

BT, or contractors for, are out the front hopefully fixing whatever was stopping the fibre chap from bringing me the internet.

I'm off to the old place for the check out inspection and find out what my landlady decides to do about the kitchen floor.

Then I'm off for a spot of hotdesking to see if that's going to work for tomorrow's meetings.

    Morning.

    Monday.

    Grey.

    Sunless.

    Dry.

Cool in here at 20.1 deg, 21.5 deg in the kitchen, 20 deg in the leanto, 20 deg in the saltinghouse.

1015 mBar, 29.9729 in Hg, 761.3 Torr, 14.72 psi, (unchanged), 78% RH (GDR hair), 70% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 13th of October 2019 NF was watching "Platoon" and "Ex Machina", while I compared the former with "Hamburger Hill", and DaveB found the weather grim.

Yet another tedious dream of working "somewhere". I hate these dreams almost as much as the Finals dream.

    Veronica Mars S1 E17.

Veronica Mars S3 E16 "Unamerican graffiti". The chap from "Grimm" turned up in a bit part.

Tea: sausage & chicken breast chunks (very small) with beans & mash, nice enough

Entertainment: "A cold war of spies" on PBS.

Morning all Overcast and humid out, felt like it could rain at any time on our walk, but the humidity was so high, I came back in soaking anyway.

Log store restacked after it mysteriously collapsed while I was away, followed by grass being cut (about half an hour with the Hayter 53 and then an hour with the ride on). The rose garden is looking quite spectacular, with one of the Veilchenblaus sporting over 2000 flowers (no, seriously). It’s in the wrong place, so will be moved to one of the other beds next year. Mum, Millie, Nostalgia, Henri Matisse, Surrey, and the other 10 in that section of the garden are all doing very well.

Latest dose of amoxicillin taken. Things feel better as the day wears on, but nights are uncomfortable.

    Anyway, TFBSZ.

Some more unpacking done but with notably less enthusiasm. It's now more akin to repacking for storage and that's boring.

My phone alerted me this morning to a potential breach of my mobile data allowance. I only pay for a 6GB allowance and rarely more than a third of it each month. Fortunately O2 roll over unused data so I wasn't really in any imminent danger of unwanted charges or, even worse, no internet at all. To be on the safe side, I sorted out a Giffgaff eSim on PAYG for one month.
