Another day, another airport! Although this is nothing compared to previous, more bonkers, trips nor the one coming up in a couple of weeks' time.

Anyway, we are at Lisbon airport, in the ANA lounge. (Not ANA the Japanese airline) Last time we were here the lounge was an overcrowded zoo and I hated it. This time, it's much calmer, and cleaner.

The lift engineer has just been, and the lift is - in theory - working again!

I think I'll let other people notice and give it a try before venturing in there myself, given that the last few times it was fixed, it lasted a couple of hours before getting stuck again

Morning all, Lisbon calling

I ercast and damp. Currently 15 degrees with a high of 17 expected. Showers likely off and on. Thunderstorms forecast this afternoon (thankfully after we've left). Barometer at 1007 mBar l.

We made it out of Madeira and arrived at our hotel in Lisbon shortly before midnight. Got a room upgrade at the Intercontinental. We could have stayed at an airport hotel but this is nicer, and BA are paying. Leaving around lunchtime, we hope!

The Wife has arrived back in the UK. Max and I had a pleasant walk earlier, it was overcast but not raining and definitely getting brighter.

Misty morning, heading towards foggy despite a little breeze. Slightly milder at 3°C with a goal of 5°. The barometers are down a touch more at 1002/1010mB

Outside, the binfolk have arrived - not sure if general waste or recycling

Telly tonight was Manhunt on C4, with Manchester plod looking for a bunch of guys who kidnapped a bloke. It's good, if you like that kind of thing

Then the evening reading was Colditz: Prisoners of the Castle by Ben Macintyre

And there's been mucking around with SpriteKit and GameplayKit stuff, mainly figuring out some nonsense where stuff kept vanishing because when a method was called from a closure there was only a weak reference to it, or some such nonsense

Shepherd's pie for tea

I had lamb ragu for dinner. It wasn't sufficiently cooked - so I've put it back in for two hours at 120.

Similar issues here. I'd put it in the microwave on defrost for a little while, which didn't seem to do much. Then I stuck it in the oven. After half an hour in there, it was sizzling around the edges, but cutting it in two revealed that the centre was only just thawed, so it ended up having another fifteen or twenty minutes

Our plane diverted to Faro. We are now going to head home via Lisbon later this evening and stopping over in Lisbon overnight before heading to Heathrow tomorrow lunchtime.

So not Nova Scotia after all, but still
