My civic duty was done via post before I moved house for a constituency I no longer live in.

    Morning all, Heathrow calling

Looks bright and dry out. Currently 13 degrees with a high of 19 expected. No rain forecast.

Arrived without incident, landing just after 6am following the need to circle over Epsom waiting for the airport to open. Transfer nonsense done and have been relaxing in the Concorde Room waiting for the flight up to Glasgow. The aircraft is coming in from Bologna and isn't due in until 0915.

The cabin crew only get one night in Barbados but the flight crew get two nights. Our pilots had four nights because of Beryl but the cabin crew arrived the day the airport reopened.

Indeed! I'm off to the Hindu temple round the corner (well, three corners) to vote shortly, returning home via the bakery where I shall treat myself to a bacon cob as a reward for doing my civic duty

    Morning denizens

Sunny start, though not for the Conservative and Unionist Party, on whom the sun is already setting. Currently 11°C and expected to reach 18°, but getting a bit blustery too. The barometers are down a touch more at 996/1003mB

    Morning.

Thursday: vote early & vote often. .

    Dry.

    Sunny.

    Blue sky.

Cool in here at 19.0 deg, 20 deg in the kitchen, 17.5 deg in the leanto.

1006 mBar, 29.707 in Hg, 754.56 Torr, 14.59 psi, (untapped but looked like 1004 last night), 78% RH (GDR hair), 65% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 16th of October 2019 WTFH was waiting for a Social Marketeer whatever that is, whereas NF was watching yet more S5 eps of Breaking Bad before going to bed "early", while I was ranting about some prog with Michael Portillo & assorted scum, in particular ******* Farage and Bliar stating that I wouldn't piss on them if they were on fire, an opinion that's failed to change since then, on the 17th it proved to be fragrant in with the hoi polloi in the library.

I'm off down to that Swansea later to join a mothers meeting of s at Ye Newe Sloughe of Desponde down by Ye Dockes. I feel sure I'll catch yet another version of the chinese plague, either on the bus or in the caff.

No further telly tonight, but a lot of stuff read on Twitter, largely crowing over how things will go tomorrow

Speaking of which, tomorrow is my last working day of the week!

Same for the Secretary of State I believe - well, last working day in the department in her case

    Goodnight all

Accompanied by S4E1 of Secrets of the London Underground, for it's back!

Just like yesterday, it's turned sunny for the evening out there

Good job you're not on VS - they've been cancelling their Caribbean flights
    Yeah, we've been tracking it

I'm not surprised other destinations in the Caribbean have been cancelled as Beryl has caused / continues to cause havoc. The last thing SVG and Grenada needs is tourists.

Yesterday was the calm between storms. Today's weather doesn't have a name but it's windy and very wet. Not sure if it's the sound of the rain falling on the palms that makes it seem worse. Apparently there are thundershowers but I've not need / heard anything to corroborate that. Currently 27 degrees with a high of 29 expected.

We're due to head home today, and I'm not looking forward to the drive to the airport. I expect there'll be much flooding on the way. Hopefully the roads won't be busy if people decide to stay home and wait it out.

I assume the remains of it will circle back over the Atlantic and get here some time next week, so you'll be able to say you were in the same hurricane twice!
