Quite a sunny start out today, and going to be a little warmer than it has been at 21°C from a 13° start. The barometers are unchanged at 1010/1018mB

I discovered this morning that I'd forgotten to close the bedroom window last night, which presumably resulted in fresh air circulating in there during the night. I don't think I slept any better as a result - in fact, I half-woke enough to remember it a number of times. But I don't suppose it'll do any long-term harm

Moving day today. Woke at 4.50am, got up at 6.45am. Just having my first coffee after bed stripping and putting away final bits of laundry

As expected, someone is parked in the space I paid to have blocked out. I can phone the enforcement people at 8.30am to give them a ticket if it's not moved by then. Which doesn't get the car moved but does get the council paid twice for the same space. The removal chaps are set to arrive by 8am.

Yesterday was my last day in ClientCos office. Final day with ConsultantCo is Tuesday.

This recently published book originated as a Twitter thread back in 2022 seeking stories from local journalists (present or former) about the people, often very strange people, who show up at local newspaper offices asking, or demanding, that their stories be told. Alex ended up receiving such a huge number of anecdotes that this book is the result, and very amusing it is too. My Dad would have enjoyed it

Meanwhile on the 11th of October 2019 WTFH was thinking of taking the dog for a walk in the rain, NF went shopping early & missed the rain so posted photos of the moon in a cathedral, whereas xogg was having banking problems that turned out to be due to the bank rather than scamming bastards (though the difference is sometimes difficult to discern, it must be said), and LM was in danger of delivering something so was frenetically cleaning stuff instead.

Walk (unabbreviated) walked in the sunshine.

In a fit of unusual enthusiasm the heights of the front garden and back garden privet hedges have been reduced. Broke a Lidl(tm) garden shears so had to dig some ancient (60 years+) shears out of next door's shed & used those instead. Bit of oil on the joint & they're as good as new, whereas the both pairs of Lidl(tm) shears will require the attention of the buzz box welder to fix the blades to the handles.

Lunch: scrambled egg etc.

Entertainment: TWATO which went <click> a lot. The tosh at 13:45 about UK elections.
