Morning all
Foggy out - could hardly see more than 10 metres when out earlier, which made for an interesting walk, particularly after my head torch died, and then the clip on MMtSH's light broke. I knew it was about to go so had ordered a screw carabiner to replace it, which arrived a few minutes ago.
Made it home, my torch is now on charge and his is now mended.
Fog is lifting slightly and I can now see the bottom of our drive.

Darn group walk this morning. I've been asked to lead it as usual lady on holiday. Prepare for news of bunch of old farts gone missing in Sussex.

Morning denizens
Looks like it's a bit of a cloudy start making it a bit darker than it needs to be, really. Mild though, being 7°C and climbing to 9° later; the barometers are trivially up at 1021/1029mB

Tonight's viewing was an episode of the BBC thing with Hannah Fry (can't remember the series title) explaining how Amazon's Alexa works, with reference to SIGSALY, Hedy Lamarr, Jack Kilby, and others
Later, I started reading Apollo 13 by Jim Lovell and Jeffrey Kluger. I wonder if dumb Hollywood execs insisted the ending be changed when it was made into a film?
Goodnight all

With all the stuff going on on this site at the minute, I thought I would share something which has made me smile for a couple of months.
If you go to the main Forums section and look down to the Welcome section, the last thread/poster is:

Lunch has been Scotch broth and a bit of wholemeal
Having to get through the soup over the last few days as I made too much stuff that wanted space in the freezer at the end of last week

Morning all late checkin from me today, other things distracted me, like the stunning sunrise while out walking. Blue skies and sunny here now, but quite chilly in the shade, almost like it's January or something. The back of the house is warming up nicely in the sun, in fact thinking about it, I might de-camp to the dining table this afternoon for the sunshine and warmth, compared to my north-east facing office.

HWMBO and I are having breakfast and deciding what to do with our day. We forgot swimming cossies so a trip to the shop may have to happen.

Morning denizens
Grey sort of start I think, maybe brightening up a little later. Mild compared to recent times at 4°C and expected to soar to a balmy 9°; the barometers are down slightly at 1020/1028mB

After a bit of the motorway-avoidant police thing, tonight's viewing was the final episode of 7/7 on iPlayer
And then I finished reading February 1933 which actually continues until March 15 as it describes the various things the Nazis got up to as soon as they'd rid themselves of the constitution and any pretence at being constrained by law. On that basis, I give the USA until late February or early March
Goodnight all
