No sign of any snow here.

Flat was still too chilly so I thought I'd check the boiler and I saw the pressure on zero. Re-pressurised the system and it seems to be warming up now.

I wish there was a way for the boiler to issue an alert when the pressure is too low.

    Very nice it was too

The snow doesn't seem to have arrived here yet, but the radar suggests it's on its way

anyway, you can't get an iBike yet, can you? to match your tv/spy speakers/phone/underwear/bath salts/etc.
Bad for the environment, but good for a small local business!

And yes, until the Apple iBike arrives, I'll have to make do with a normal one

The bike shop has been visited, where they did a good job of exploring my assorted requirements and showing me a bunch of suitable bikes. We'd finally settled on one particular model and they fitted pedals and lent me a helmet so I could take it for a test ride… whereupon I was shocked to discover that although you never forget how to ride a bike, you can still be pretty damn out of practice after twenty-five years or so

At the first corner I veered into a quiet side road that goes nowhere in particular, and wobbled along for a fairly short distance before turning back. I'll really need to spend some time getting back into practice

But once I settled in and got pedalling properly, I realised that this particular bike was just a bit too small, and not in a way that moving the saddle up would fix.

It had been a tossup between this size and one size up, but it turned out all the ones they had in stock of the next size were missing something else I wanted, so they've had to order one specially

And as bike manufacturers don't seem to like to be rushed, it should be here in early February, or maybe towards the end of January if I'm lucky!

At least I had a good walk there and back

Soup for lunch. Not entirely sure what it was as it was something HWMBO cooked up a while ago and I'd frozen for a day like today. I had the good sense on Thursday to take it out of the freezer to defrost so it only took a few minutes to warm up a portion on the hob.

No extra rasher this time, but you can't have on every time or it wouldn't be special, I suppose

Monkey Life has finished for today and they've moved on to repeats of Antipodean wildlife rescues. So as soon as I get myself organised, I'm walking round to the bicycle shop, where I expect to be able to get one that's brand new and fully fettled

    Afternoon all

Dull and overcast. Currently 3 degrees with a high of 4 that may have been and gone as I can't see it improving. Rain expected from late afternoon that could turn to sleet or snow this evening. Barometer down to 1014 mBar.

I keep forgetting to add this:
    Sunrise 08:06, Sunset 16:07

Headachy today. Can't be booze related as I've not had any, unless it's withdrawal.

Bed stripped and airing while the linen is in the WM and just going onto its spin cycle.
