Tea has been a rack of ribs, this time with the honey BBQ sauce, and chips

In fact, it was about 0.75 of a rack, because I decided to save a bit for lunch tomorrow rather than being my usual greedy self and eating the lot

Shopping done!

It was Not-as-Big Sainsbury's this time, but I still managed to get most things I was after as there wasn't anything too exotic or outré needed this week

Returning, I found that some vile person - well, one of my very nice neighbours, I assume - had snaffled my preferred parking spot!

Adding insult to injury, there weren't any other spaces free on the drive around the big lawn. So I had to go and park in the small car park out the back, which luckily still had a couple of spaces free

I still haven't had to park on the road at all since I moved here

My document is mostly done, pending someone reviewing it and demanding sweeping changes.

I intended to listen to the playback of a meeting with OtherClientCo that I couldn't attend this afternoon but the recording was stopped a couple of minutes after it started. There was some gossip to be discussed and so recording was stopped. Sadly, no-one thought to restart the recording once the gossiping was done, so I have no idea if there's anything I need to care about.

The reason for non-attendance was because I finally got my behind (and the rest of me) to the GP to enquire about the frequency and type of headaches I've been having of late. We have a plan for a bit of monitoring, a few tests, etc. No caffeine for a while, which is disappointing.

No Mahjongy thing this morning due to a funeral.

Got my business accounts to add up, really relieved as the £2k discrepancy in balance sheet is now only £21. After some minor editing I'd been adding the stock cost of sales instead of subtracting! Idiot! What a relief, it was really stressing me out.

Nowt this PM except walky and boring shopping. May try and put up with loony lady 2 again tomorrow. I shall email her the terms and conditions she must agree to.

Been an OK morning, mostly pairing with the other dev as we add a new feature which requires some meddling around with areas of the app I haven't had much to do with yet. So she's driving, and I'm following along

This morning the builder who sorted the garden wall stopped by to bring the person charged with painting it. They have prepped the surface and applied a base coat, returning tomorrow (weather allowing) to finish it off. The collection of rubbish that had been left in the front garden was taken away.

Also this morning I have made some progress on that document I've been avoiding for some time. You can tell the delivery deadline is looming when I actually start doing something.

Meanwhile on the 17th of February 2020 Brillo, BR14, and Churchill popped in, Diver and his hand were mentioned, NF commented, WTFH did too, and LM eventually appeared.

It appears that the garden next door was flooded more deeply on 16th of February 2020 as recalled in my post of the 14th of September. Well there's a thing. Looks, from a distance since the drizzle remains extant, that it's getting a little deeper down there. No whales yet.

Lunch: brunch. Entertainment: my tinnitus, which is growing much stonger since one ear blocked.

In other news, next door managed, after many weeks, to get the box of sodden newspaper and the overfull box of wine bottles out to the kerb for collection. Well there's a thing.

Both must have been too heavy for the female half, so presumably my idle nephew managed to stir his sticks at last & bend his fecking back & do something.

Or course the emptied bins & wheelie bin will remain out the front for ages since he has a world class talent for ignoring stuff.

Wonder of wonders: it was all back in when I returned from my walk. Such dynamism.

Walk (towpath, abbreviated slightly) walked. It didn't drizzle on me which was good.

Canal very full with the sluices doing their thing: odd to remember it was empty in places 3 weeks ago.

Lots of acorns falling like bullets with a resounding plop! into the canal.

River in spate.

Wasps nest in the compost heap with some very energetic workers flying to and fro.

I thought they'd be dying back by now but this lot seem not to have got the memo.

Very amusted watching one wasp toying with an orb spider which wasn't having anythiing to do with it, fending it off with a leg or two.

They seem smaller than the usual wasp.

Freecell score: 95%, running average: 84%.

Tea: beans on toast etc.

Entertainment: PBS: Edwin Land and Polaroid. Inneresting. A prime example of someone representing himself in court having a fool for a client. .

UFO bollox on Blaze. Rendlesham Forest was mentioned so I washed the dishes on the principle that would be more inneresting by far. .

Grey start and there's been a bit more rain overnight, with an 80% chance of showers very soon; but there are hints of thinness to some areas of cloud suggesting the possibility of brighter spells. Still windy. The mild spell continues: it's already 17°C and expected to reach 21° for a few hours this afternoon. The barometers are up a little at 1003/1011mB

Long group walk this morning, I was the only bloke again. Local history talk this evening, about prehistoric flints found in the area, bit boring but nice chats afterwards.

Tea has been the last of the belly pork braised in cider out of the freezer, with chips. I'll definitely make that again

This was accompanied by S1E1 of Critical: Between Life and Death on Netflix, which is a bit like 24 Hours in A&E combined with the call centre bits of Ambulance judging by this episode, being a documentary about London's health services dealing with serious incidents; this episode was about a bunch of people being injured when a fairground ride decided to fall to bits as it was whizzing them around at high speed

Given how many such documentary series I've watched, part of the fun in this was spotting medical staff that have appeared in the other programmes. In particular, one of the doctors with HEMS was, IIRC, previously at either St George's or Kings and has appeared on 24 Hours in A&E quite a few times
