Tonight's telly was E2 of Barlinnie

And then I read a lot more of The Founders, in which Musk has been booted out while he was on his honeymoon

Interestingly, despite the lack of his business acumen and technological prowess to guide them, the remaining team have done extremely well: developing fraud detection techniques much more sophisticated than any used by old-school financial institutions, including the first use of CAPTCHA, and successfully seeing off eBay's attempts to take back control of payments with their now-forgotten BillPoint service

    Goodnight all

Having had a rather large lunch, I wanted something lighter for tea. So I dug my Matsudai classic tonkotsu ramen kit out of the freezer, and it was very nice indeed

I've still got one kit left, though I can't remember which variant it is. But I'll definitely get more from them once that's gone

Just noticed that a new series of Ambulance started on the BBC a few days ago. That'll kick off tea time viewing. This series is based in London.

    Evening all

It's been a dull and overcast day but thankfully dry. It's currently 13 degrees down from today's high of 14. Barometer up from the past few days to 1022 mBar.

I was in the office today to meet with the person who wanted me to help on this extra project. Despite us sitting next to each other, the download of information didn't happen until 3pm. All still billable though.

Not at all busy today, as I'm still working with a couple of people from another team and one is off while the other has lots of meetings

I spent some time (not much) confirming an idea I had this morning, and it will work as I expected, thereby removing the need for what was anticipated to be a separate chunk of work. And while investigating that, I happened to notice something else in a Stack Exchange answer which will save a few seconds, which is good as the end users have been grumbling about performance. So I have a couple of ideas to bring to the table tomorrow, should we back at full strength then

I just took advantage of the lack of busyness to pop round to the Post Office and post off copies of Commando to my siblings. And the pharmacy is only two or three shops along from there so I was able to pop in and get the monthly parcel of prescription drugs

This also counted as today's walk, so: green ring closed

Lunch has been more takeaway leftovers; specifically, a bit of chicken karachi and a chunk of naan

    Morning.

    Monday apparently.

Today's dream before waking involved getting a packet of frozen M&S fish to NK for some unknown reason.

Maybe Fatboy has a taste for it?

Along with adding number strings in hex for even less obvious reasons. I was glad to wake up.

    Dry.

    Grey.

    Sunless.

Chilly in here at 16.7 deg, 16.5 deg in the kitchen, 15 deg in the leanto.

1014 mBar, 29.9434 in Hg, 760.56 Torr, 14.7 psi, (up from 1008 last night), 69% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 22nd of November 2019 I was watching BTVS & Angel, whereas NF was watching "The Wire" yet again & had reached The End, however on the 23rd I discovered that the jeans I was wearing on my stagger up the hill had added ventilation in the seat area and the 3 month old el not very cheapo chinese crap walking boots split, though they remained in use for some years with bread bags keeping my feet dry. The soles were as good as new when they were thrown away, despite the rest being beyond repair.

Shopping trip to Tesco done dusted washed dried sanitised & put away.

    Lunch: there was.

Walk (unabbreviated) walked in the grey gloom.

4 lawns mown: didn't bother with the 5th since it doesn't really need it & I was knackered.

    Tea: eggs etc.

Entertainment: PM <click> due to irritation with the presenter.

    Book.

Simon Schama waffling on about Mountains. Including shots of that free climbing French woman.

Oak Island bollocks: the usual: this week we still ain't found tulip: the metal detecting moron found half a clipped coin. There's a cave 150 feet down apparently, according to sonar.

Feck me: next week: they find wood. And the metal detecting moron finds something that's Roman from 300BC. As fecking if.

Next: Planes that changed the world. SR71.

Overcast but dry out. Lots of cider bubbling away in demijohns in the office.

    Morning denizens

Dark out to start with, though it's getting lighter now. Looks like it's overcast and will stay that way after a windy night, which has settled back to just a breeze now. It's currently 10°C but feels like 5° due to said breeze, with an expected high of 14° this afternoon. The barometers are bouncing back at 1005/1013mB

Further viewing tonight was an old episode of 24 Hours in A&E

And then I read a couple more chapters of The Founders. Technology genius Elon Musk has insisted that PayPal's entire Linux-based tech stack be rewritten using Microsoft stuff, leading to a situation where certain servers have to be rebooted every thirteen seconds because of memory leaks. Meanwhile, business genius Elon Musk has become so obsessed with naming everything "X" that the rest of the senior executive team are plotting to get rid of him

Monday tomorrow, but I have to say I don't find it quite as bad after a three day break and knowing that it's only a four day week (for me; sorry, everybody else)

It's very windy out there - 40mph gusts, apparently

    Goodnight all

The drive home wasn't terrible earlier this afternoon as the rain wasn't too heavy and visibility was good.

Managed to get a reasonably decent parking space a couple of doors up the road.
