    Shopping done!

I got rained on a fair bit, but what else can you expect in November? Going there, I took the route past the old place for the first time in a while. The chestnut trees are now leafless, as one would expect, but looking well; and the Polish café was gearing up for lunchtime opening

Shopping itself was uneventful. I managed to get rid of a couple of bags of “flexible plastics” for recycling; I assume Not-as-Big Sainsbury’s also participates in the scheme but I don’t know where their dumping ground is, whereas Big has two tall basket trolleys for that purpose just inside the door, so I take them there. One of the bags has been behind some stuff in the office for ages, having been moved out of the way during the washer-dryer saga and forgotten about

Returning home, my preferred space was still free. In fact, I was able to position the car more accurately than it had been when I left. There are no markings along our side, and others had parked in what I judged to be a sub-optimal configuration when I got back from shopping last week, so the Corolla has been about a foot to a foot-and-a-half further back than I believe it should have been since then. Order has now been restored

Next up: deciding what to have for lunch, for I now have an embarrassment of riches in that regard

Yesterday evening HWMBO and I went to see Bugonia (2005) which was absolutely bonkers but very entertaining. Certainly didn't feel like a near 2h run time.

This evening we are off to the nether regions of the docklands to visit Cafe Spice Namaste as they're putting on a special dinner event. In order to score some bonus points with IHG, we're staying near the eXcel afterwards and taking a slow mosey home via Borough Market tomorrow morning.

    Morning denizens

It’s extremely grey and very rainy here today, as was foretold by the Met Office, and expected to continue so through the day and even through the night. Bit less mild, too: 10°C now apparently “feels like” 0°, and we’ve already had our high for the day of 11° so it’ll be 9° soon! The barometers are sticking around the same 993/1000mB region they’ve been at for most of the week

Off to do the shopping soon, despite the inclement conditions

    Morning.

    Friday.

    Wet.

    Dark.

    Dank.

    Dreary.

    Windy.

    Grey.

    Sunless.

Chilly in here at 17.4 deg, 17 in the kitchen, 14.5 in the leanto.

994 mBar, 29.35 in Hg, 745.6 Torr, 14.42 psi, (down from 997 last night), 66% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 29th of February 2020 LM, Brillo, and BR14 popped in and there was much concern about NF's lack of A Visit to the Chinese. . Mere anarchy loosed upon the world. .

Lunch: brunch. Entertainment: the Everest thing.

Warm out and a bit wet. No sign of Claudia, perhaps we are on her fringe down here.

    TFIF, etc.

Tonight’s viewing was the rest of an episode of Police Interceptors I started watching a few days ago

And in Elvissey, things are getting as strange as one would expect

The mundane laundry came to a successful conclusion, so that’s one less thing to do tomorrow

    Goodnight all

Tea: pork cutlet with chips and beans

I’ve just put the mundane laundry on, as the new washer-dryer should have that done by the time I want to get to sleep - probably well before

Another week done! Sixteen more days to go

Despite the warnings of rain tomorrow, I’ve decided to put the shopping off until then. I need to go to Big Sainsbury’s so I can get Viz, and the drive over there is more tolerable on a Friday morning

Quite nice 2day tho. Saw quite a few bumble bees and some wasps in buzzing round flowery bush earlier.

Lunch: Heinz tomato soup and white toast

It’s becoming rather Simpsonesque out now, in contradiction of the gloomy prognostications of the weather app

I see, however, that we have an Amber weather warning for rain tomorrow, it being expected to arrive overnight and continue forever

Earlier it was all blue sky and wispy fluff. Now the lumpier fluff has encroached but there's still plenty of sky to be seen when it moves out the way. Currently 14 degrees with a high of 16 expected. My weather app is displaying a 'moderate rainfall warning'. The clouds will come and go as the day progresses, but looking likely to be fully clouded over by early evening. Barometer up to 1007 mBar.

    Sunrise 07:16; Sunset 16:14 GMT

Another day of meetings and such today. Although one is going to be bumped to next week, which is a relief.

Dinner yesterday was toad in the hole! Yum. Made with the sausages I picked up at Saturday's farmers' market. They were very nice. Good flavour and texture. Not sure putting 5 in a pack is forgivable though.

    Morning.

    Thursday.

    Dry.

    Sunny.

    Blue sky.

    Bet that doesn't last long.

Chilly in here at 17.5 deg, 17 in the kitchen, 15 in the leanto.

1000 mBar, 29.53 in Hg, 750 Torr, 14.5 psi, (up from 995 last night), 67% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 29th of February 2020 Brillo popped in a lot, BR14 popped in, LM watched Timewatch and had garlic prawns, whilst NF went to the pub & didn't go to the Chinese, who were, presumably, devastated by this.

Walk (unabbreviated, towpath) walked in the wan sunshine.

Enlivened by the Calor Gas Emergency Drill Exercise. Didn't know so many people worked there, hundreds.

Lunch: brunch. Entertainment: Y&Y scam watch <click>.

Chopped a lump out of my hand dusting. .

More welding practice. Stone me, I'm sure I used to be able to do this stuff. Now: not so much. Box of crappy Lidl(tm) rods used up.

Ground back the welds on the gate. .

Tea: beans on toast (full fat full sugar not that other crap).

    Entertainment: PM.

The Nazi programme: Pearl Harbour Thing about some tramroads in Cornwall with Julia Bradbury.

Classic Movies: The Railway Children (1970).

Once Upon a Time in Space. The ISS. Beam me up FFS I've had enough. How the septics got rid of MIR. Not nearly as inneresting as last week's ep, nor as much fun. Rather sad.
