I really struggled to get to sleep last night, not dropping off until past two in the morning. As a result, I seem to have turned the first alarm off this morning without waking up at all. Usually I have some vague recollection of turning it off, but not today

It’s a grey start again, though no showers this time. Currently 8°C (“feels like” 4°) and expected to reach a balmy 15° along with sunny spells this afternoon, while the barometers are back up to 1017/1025mB

One thing I noticed last night, and also this morning, is a slight irritation of the nasal membranes. I’m wondering if the hay fever season may be getting off to an early start

. Plus the "wolf" carcass they found decaying in the stream turned out to have 11% DNA from canids not found in north America, the remaining 89% being totally unidentifiable. The lower jaw bone matches that of a young dire wolf: something that went extinct 12,000 years ago. Cue X Files music.
