Meanwhile in Berlin, the Russians are ready to begin their final assault, Eisenhower has paused his forces at the Elbe because he’s a mug, and the Fuhrer continues to issue orders that depend on units that basically don’t exist any longer

This evening HWMBO and I watched the new Naked Gun film. Very entertaining. We ended up also watching the entire credits because they snuck in silly things. I don't think I got them all.

The HHGTTG thing was a bit naff. Luckily it only lasted 90 minutes.

Drove to Canada today and got home with still over 120 miles range, possibly helped by putting the car into self drive mode (except you can’t call it that, and you can’t let go of the steering wheel for more than 15 seconds, but there’s no need to steer, speed up or slow down, the car does it all.

It’s cloudy with bits of blue showing here and there and a bit of a breeze, with some showers passing through from time to time. The current 8°C supposedly “feels like” 2° but I don’t think it’s that bad, based on poking my head out of the window. The day’s high of 9° has already come and gone, and the barometers are shuffling upwards at 986/994mB

HWMBO and I have been to the farmers' market where we procured a chicken and some sausages. HWMBO was not enthused by the vegetables which is what he actually wanted to buy.

I am off to Hammersmith in about 45 minutes to see the interactive Hitchhiker's Guide thing that's had some mixed reviews. Meeting my friend at Pret in the station, if I can remember where it is.

Well I'm glad I sorted that out: I conflated "Dominique" with "Domino", this last being the story of Laurence Harvey's daughter who gave up a modelling career to become a bounty hunter and came to a sad end.

Lunch: brunch. Entertainment: FOOC (which may go <click> a lot depending on what they're on about). <click> Book.

Walk (unabbreviated, towpath) walked in the sunshine, with a spot or two of rain here & there. Nice enough.

Entertainment: book. I wonder why I'm so uninterested in finishing "Robots and Empire": it's stuck since well before Xmas and shows no sign of unsticking any time soon. .

Living room, kitchen, and leanto duly vacced. Too tired to do more. Must be getting a bit or something.

A very loud squall blew through about 21:00 yesterday, for a moment I thought it was a Chinook landing on the roof of the house.
