And in other news, I think I need to the prescription checked on my reading glasses. Things are looking a little fuzzier than I'd like.

I had read that, once you succumb to wearing glasses, your eyesight can deteriorate more rapidly for a while as the muscles have less work to do. Dunno if that's true.

    Afternoon all

Dull and overcast again. Dampness out but no active precipitation at present. Rain is forecast but my app is not willing to say when. Currently 20 degrees with a high of 21 expected. Barometer up a snifter to 1009 mBar.

Lazy day today. Emptied another box by throwing away most of the contents and then refilled it with things that may/should go to storage. Or be thrown away.

I'm thinking I might sell most of what's in storage rather than hang onto it, with the holy grail being getting rid of the unit or at least scaling down its size. This means a visit to catalogue it all and figure out how to take photos and measurements without bringing it all home and assembling it.

Lunch: Heinz chicken soup and white toast

It's looking drizzly out, but closer examination suggests it may be mist. Hard to be sure without going out in it, which I have no intention of doing

I'm feeling very under the weather again, gradually declining over the two-and-a-half hours of Monkey Life. Bit of a sore throat and occasional chills. May do another Covid test in a bit

And while I was away, I think the new neighbour or neighbours across the hall may have finished moving in

    Morning.

    Saturday apparently.

    Damp.

    Dreary.

    Grey.

    Misty.

Cool in here at 18.9 deg, 20 deg in the kitchen, 18 deg in the leanto.

1005.5 mBar, 29.692 in Hg, 754.18 Torr, 14.583 psi, (unchanged but a tad), 76% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 9th of November 2019 NF went to the Chinese and was disturbed to find two other people waiting for their orders, one of whom broke into conversation, this always being disturbing, though the meal was very nice, much BTVS and Angel were watched, along with bits of MI and The Wire, and some obscure Chinese film had a mention.

    Morning denizens

Grey and overcast start to the day, with even a hint of fog in the air. Rather mild with it though: already 17°C, reaching 22° later. The barometers are about the same at 999/1007mB

Vague feelings of lurginess this morning, which I imagine is the same one as early in the week. I suppose I didn't notice it quite as much when I was busy, but it's also had the opportunity to marshal its forces due to my condition being weakened by booze, fatigue, and the stress of having to socialise

Mind you, it's also possible I caught something else while there! Covid test is still negative, so it's probably not that

    CBS, etc, pleasantly warm.

Hotel breakfast starts at 7:30. I need to leave for the airport at 7:45. Time to get this show on the road.

Apart from an old Traffic Cops whilst dining, I didn't bother watching anything tonight as I'm very tired. It's possible that I'm feeling some lingering effects from drinking champagne and other wines for about eleven hours yesterday

Early night now, and I daresay I'll feel a bit better in the morning

    Goodnight all

The lack of USB outlets in such of the hotel's rooms as I stayed in, combined with my own forgetfulness in the matter of chargers, led to all my sundry devices dying overnight

Anyway, breakfast was nice again, and the bill wasn't too painful; and with those matters settled, it was time for the 150 mile journey home. No stops this time

It's sunny here, and warm too at 24°C with a high of 25° expected shortly. The barometers are either up, down, or steady at 999/1006mB but I don't know which as I wasn't here yesterday

Despite no rain being forecast, rain happened.

HWMBO and I went over to the nether regions of one of the many trading estates near Park Royal to pick up some Mexican ingredients he'd ordered to take back home on Monday.

I have a reasonable parking space secured as a result of the drive. I opted for ease of parking over proximity to my front door.

Dull and overcast. Damp. There was a thunderstorm around 0530 that seemed to comprise a couple of lightening flashes and some rumbles and a good while later, rain. Currently 19 degrees with a high of 20 expected. Will remain cloudy all day but no further rain forecast. Barometer down to 1007 mBar.

HWMBO appears to have picked up my cold, just as I'm recovering.
