    Morning.

    Sunday.

    Wet.

    Grey.

    Sunless.

Cooler in here at 16.8 deg, 17 in the kitchen, 16 in the leanto.

1004 mBar, 29.65 in Hg, 753.1 Torr, 14.56 psi, (down from 1005 last night), 70% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 16th of February 2020 it was very wet: WTFH had 8 litres of water out of his roof, BR14 popped in, along with Brillo, Churchill and LM, whilst NF watched the Prada film again, and the bottom of next door's garden had 6" of water, whilst there was an inch or so in my pig sties: high tide was at 11:38 and the marsh was fullish at 11:15 with the river making a roaring noise as it flowed towards the sea, with the canal overtopping the bank in places.

    Morning denizens

Cloudy start out, more featureless and flat than the clouds yesterday, which at least had some form to them. It's 13°C and expected to soar to 16° this afternoon, but accompanied by some rain. The barometers are back up a bit at 999/1007mB

I awoke around ten to eight, but decided that was far too early for a Sunday and went back to sleep

    Morning all

Cloudy but dry and reasonably bright. Slightly damp. Currently 13 degrees with a high of 17 expected. Rain forecast late afternoon/early evening. Barometer up to 1012 mBar.

    Sunrise 06:35; Sunset 19:18 BST

Off down south to visit Mum and brother today. I keep thinking I should check my tyre pressures as I've not done it in a while.

Tea was brought to me from the Turkish place. Very nice as usual

I had a voucher for £8 off that needed to be used up, and there was also a promotion offering £7 off, so I ended up saving £15 on the whole deal

Lunch, for the record, was a sausage roll

That's a change from the board standard gingham version. .

i'm glad I'm retired<sort of>. none of my stuff needs an I-ron or any fancy treatment whatsoever.
All cotton, no fancy dress/suits/ties/other nonsense.
    jeans/shorts and Tshirts/track tops/fleeces. bliss.

Pleased with my continuing ability to make mainframes perform, though , Although I reckon I'll either go part time from now, or chuck it if the consultancy don't agree.
I've proved I can still cut it, and I don't really need the money*.

**oops, I'll upset the whingeing, greedy, tax avoiding Torys??
    never mind eh?

Though it doesn't do the shopping, they sent me a load of the two kinds of stuff for free which is intended to last a family for six months, so it should see me through at least a year

I can still chuck a pod in if I choose, or even go old school and pour powder into the drawer. But the stuff it handles automagically works and smells OK, so why bother?

Sunny spells and big white fluffy bits out today. Not that warm though: 15°C now, soaring to a mere 16° later; the barometers are down a little too, at 994/1002mB

    Morning all

Sunny with a mix of wispy and lumpy fluff. Breezy. Currently dry but damp from overnight rain. Currently 16 degrees with a high of 18 expected. There may be a shower later. Barometer down to 1007 mBar.

    Sunrise 06:33; Sunset 19:20 BST

Slept well again, didn't hear the rain, woke about 7.30 am which isn't too bad.

Popped over to the farmers' market to see if the Carribbean sauce lady was there this week (she wasn't).

Then over to one of the grocer's to pick up some savoury pastries.

Then over to Argos-in-Sainsbury's to treat myself to a clothes steamer. I got rid of my ironing board and iron as I didn't use them but I do have a couple of linen dresses that would look a lot better for a bit of de-creasing every now and then. A steamer takes up much less room.

    Morning.

    Saturday. Last Fair day.

Wet. Torrentially wet overnight (or very windy).

    Dark.

    Dank.

    Dreary.

    Nice rainbow just now.

Cooler in here at 17.4 deg, 17 deg in the kitchen, 16 deg in the leanto.

1001 mBar, 29.56 in Hg, 750.8 Torr, 14.52 psi, (down from 1002 last night), 70% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 15th of February 2020 Brillo & scruff popped in, NF visited the Chinese (which was very nice), and I watched Highlander II and III.

Freecell score: 88%, running average: 84%.

    Lunch: brunch.

Entertainment: my tinnitus. News Quiz with no mention of 3006 bolt action rifles. .

Walk (unabbreviated, towpath) walked, mostly in sunshine, slight sprinkling of rain.

    Getting darker now.

    Tea: soup etc. Entertainment: PM.

Video about some geezer comparing a Rover V8 3.5 engine fitted with SU carbs against the same engine fitted with some septic 4 barrel carb*: lot of fannying about and money for 17 hp at 6000 rpm.

*Edelbrock 500 for which a new manifold is required. (£200).

    Maigret "The children's party" (1961).

4: Britain's Railway Empire: how Britain brought railways to the world. E1.

Blaze: Skunk Works. Something on Blaze that didn't involve more than a brief mention of UFOs and no involvement of that fright haired twat.

The last bit of "Cold Pursuit" with that Liam Neeson.

Tonight's major motion picture premiere was The Foreigner (2017) in which an elderly Jackie Chan is hell bent on revenge after his daughter is killed by a bomb planted by a renegade nouveau IRA unit. But does he have a special set of skills…? I thought this was excellent, bringing revenge and action tropes together in a very dark political thriller. Highly recommended

And then Resident Evil: The Final Chapter (2016) which is a fitting ending to the saga

Finally, I decided to rewatch The Adjustment Bureau (2011) for no other reason than that I like it. I really ought to get around to reading the Philip K. Dick short story on which it, as with so many good films, is based

    Goodnight all
