My diligent viewing thereof over four series was finally rewarded by an excellent view of the place where I used to live

It was down to 0°C by the time I finished work today and will dip to -1° overnight, but supposedly it will "feel like" -7°. So exercise has been taken without venturing outside, and I'll be keeping the bedroom window shut tonight

Having taken fifteen minutes or so to rearrange some of the junk valuable artefacts in the study, I've managed to liberate the exercise bike from where it's been trapped ever since it was moved over here. So I don't have to go out for a walk for the sake of exercise on what promises to be a very chilly evening

I remembered last night that both my cardiac episodes happened in late November during a very cold spell, which helped motivate me. Of course, I was in a very cold flat back then which can't have helped, and this place is much cosier. But you can't be too careful

2 minutes late at the dentist's due to chat with lady on the way down. As a result of the machinery on the path earlier I left mud on the chair. :.

Mug of drinking chocolate when back home. . (Well there's a goodly amount of milk).

Tea: battered haddock (Tesco) etc. Nice enough.

Early walk in very blustery conditions, but quite mild. Right coat was worn for the wind and light rain, but totally the wrong one for the warmth (11C)

Snow!

Not a huge amount here; maybe a half-inch to an inch. But it's real, and it's sticking on the cars and lawns and roofs, albeit not to our drive

It's currently 1°C ("feels like" -5°) with an expected high of 3° for the day, while the barometers are expressing their concern by dropping to 986/994mB. The snow will peter out by nine or ten after which it'll be breezy, with sunny spells towards late afternoon

And enough people I follow have left Twitter for Bluesky in the last few days that it's becoming a viable alternative. It's very much like Twitter used to be years ago, with little in the way of trolls and no algorithm to drive engagement farming. We shall see how it goes because these things always end up having their problems, but it's a nice change for now

Heard someone use a phrase earlier that I hadn’t heard in years, except it was a variation on the one I remember. He said “I’m going to rip your arm off and slap you with the soggy end”
Made me think back to where it originally came from, and supposedly it’s been used in lots of things over the years (such as Buffy), but the earliest I could find was Blake’s Seven, although that was “beat you with the wet end”. I actually prefer “soggy”, it’s a bit better.

Got to HWMBO's about 5.30pm. It was starting to get frosty out and it's now -1 degrees with a low of -6 expected overnight. Barometer at 1002 mBar

In trying to check in for tomorrow's flight home, I fired up my work laptop and discovered a meeting booked for 9am. Not funny.

Very tired but hoping to stay awake for another hour or so before bed.
