Tonight's reading was Jeffrey Bernard's Low Life, being a combination of the two published collections of his Spectator column of the same title. Often very funny, sometimes mordant, always entertaining

Better get some sleep now so I can Get Things Done tomorrow - most importantly, get the new Viz

    Goodnight all

Tea was chicken madras with rice and naan

I got the rice a bit better this time, though not quite perfect

This was accompanied by a new episode of the Gloucestershire night policing thing

Morning all, local time is 0706

Sunrise will be at 0714. Currently 11 degrees and that's the high for the day. Today's forecast is intermittent showers, around lunchtime and early evening. Otherwise dull and cloudy. Barometer up to 1020 mBar.

Dinner yesterday was a fun evening with a nice home cooked meal.

Seattle has a good selection of decent to high quality postcards at reasonable prices. This pleases me greatly.

    Ham toasties for lunch

Tending towards the Simpsonesque out now

Several meetings this afternoon, but not all of the tedious kind

And I think I'm just about done with what I'm working on, so they'll help fill the time until the start of the long weekend!

    Morning.

    Thursday.

    Dry.

    Sunny.

    Blue sky in parts.

Chilly in here at 14.1 deg, 12 deg in the kitchen, 11 deg in the leanto, 8.8 deg in the salting house.

1029 mBar, 30.386 in Hg, 771.8 Torr, 14.924 psi, (down from 1030 last night), 61% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on December 1st 2019 there was discussion by Brillo of NF's angina which had occurred two years previously, I was watching yet more BTVS including the commentary, and BR14 had defrosted lamb mince by mistake to make "chilli con lamby".

    Shirts in the WM.

Shirts out of the WM & pegged out on the line.

    Smalls in the WM.

Smalls out of the WM & pegged out on the line.

    Cottons can wait until tomorrow.

Walk (unabbreviated) walked in the sunshine. Bit warmer than yesterday, but then I was later too.

Lunch: brunch, though 20 mins earlier than usual.

Ferreted about in various cardboard boxes & down the shed looking for various bits & pieces for the next project, though that may never happen. Found ancient bits of radios from my misspent youth, including bits of a 1930s Philips SuperInductance wireless set which was almost enough to make me weep. Ho hum.

4 lawns duly mown, hopefully it's the final cut this year. Even had a shower to celebrate. .

Shirts in off the line & roughly iRoned despite being a bit damp.

Smalls in off the line & in the TD: they emitted quite a lot of water, rather more than I'd expected.

Shirts airing in the living room since that's the warmest & driest room.

Entertainment: The Infinite Monkey Cage: Maths. Committing the perfect murder.

    Tea: Brains faggots etc.

    Entertainment: PM.

Thing about Coal Minining on BBC4 Timewatch or whatever. Would have been better without the dirges "sung" by Ewan McColl. I've decided my dad was right about him.

UFO bollox on Blaze interspersed with Terminator: Dark Fate as the adverts breaks allowed, until I was fed up with both & turned it all off.

    Morning all

Overcast and warm (12C) on our walk, thankfully I noted the temperature before choosing a jacket.

Back in, and have watched the JL advert. I didn't see anything obvious in it to raise the blood pressure of wailers, but I'm sure they'll find something to be offended by.

    Morning denizens

Somewhat cloudy start after some overnight rain, but clearing towards the east so getting sunnier later. A bit milder as a result, being 9°C but only getting to 12°. The barometers are down a bit but still optimistic at 1020/1029mB

Today we wandered around Pike Street Market (the birthplace of Starbucks, we didn't go to that bit) and then took a wander down to Pioneer Square.

It's now nearly 4pm and we'll soon be getting ready to visit a university friend of HWMBO's for dinner.

I must have blinked & missed that bit. . Then again much of E3 was "watched" with the sound muted.

There are times when the Lucan-hunting chap's obsessive nature gets a bit exasperating, but it's worth persevering to the (surprising) end

This evening's reading has been a bit more of Lying for Money, with some interesting lessons in business strategy from the accountant to the Kray twins

    Thursday tomorrow!

    Goodnight all
