It’s a grey, damp, breezy start to the day, and expected to continue in much the same vein. It’s 11°C which “feels like” 4° and expected to reach 16°, so at least it’s not so chilly. The barometers are down again ay 993/1000mB

The flooring for the shed arrived yesterday. 150kg roll of it for the main shed, 20kg of tiles for the mower shed.
Back is a bit sore, sack trolley might be a bit bent.
Drizzling at 5:30, but was dry for most of our walk.

This evening’s viewing was the rest of an episode of the motorway cops thing, being the one that was rudely interrupted the other week by the 5 app suddenly deciding to stop working completely

And later, I read more of The Middle Kingdoms in which the government of the various parts of Central Europe continued to be extremely chaotic for a few more centuries, even without Mongol hordes confusing the issue

There were some heavy spells of rain today, with more expected overnight and tomorrow

I just remembered that this morning, I found a big wasp buzzing around the kitchen window. I opened the window, which hinges from the bottom and opens a few inches at the top, while I started planning how to trap it and get it out; I assumed it would just keep banging into the window, as such things usually do. But to my surprise, as soon as the window was open, it backed away from it, went round the side of the frame, and flew out! This obviously saved me a lot of hassle, but did get me wondering if it was from a new species of super-intelligent wasps

Lunch today was a leftover pork cutlet in a bap (wholemeal) with apple sauce. And tea has been further leftovers in the form of corned beef hash

Today wasn’t too bad for the most part, being largely devoted to working out some UI tweaks that have been suggested during UAT; they aren’t definitely happening, but now people can have a look at them rather than considering them in the abstract

There’s a pentester prodding and poking at our stuff at the moment, and this afternoon he popped up with some problems doing file uploads. Unfortunately, I have no knowledge of that part of the app, and the sample data he was having trouble with was sent by the other dev - I don’t even have a copy of it! I was able to work out one problem from server logs and a bit of logic, but I don’t know if it helped, as this was late afternoon and he went quiet. I think today was supposed to be the last day, so maybe he just figured it wasn’t important - from what I could see, none of the nasty stuff he'd thrown at us got through, so maybe it isn’t that important from his point of view to show that it succeeds with valid data

Day to meself today. Actually got round to cleaning all the moss off the conservatory roof. Bit of a precarious job for an old fart, standing at top of a ladder. Spent over an hour looking at Google search problems on me business website.

Meanwhile on the 27th of March 2020 Brillo popped in a lot with LondonManc, BR14, LM, and NF managing to squeeze a post in here & there with a mention of Dali and Picasso on some BBC4 prog.

Goodness me: slept for about an hour and a half before I went downstairs, then returned to bed at about 05:50 and slept until 08:30ish.

Considering the layers of clothes I had on I should have been bathed in sweat but for some reason that's not happening at the moment. Even had the electric blanket on for some of it. Very strange.

Lunch (early): brunch. Entertainment: a thing about some loser who threw away a career as a medic due to drugs.

Shopping trip to Morrisons done dusted washed dried sanitised & put away.

Waited until the sun had emerged, if somewhat wanly, before leaving. Dry on the way down, intermittent light drizzle on the way back, though not enough to raise the brolly.

Having opened some pictures sent by my sister, I have now seen a photo of my new niece "Dora". FFS. You couldn't make this tulip up. That's him/her/it* cut out of my will.

Thank the almighty that all the grandparents are gone, particularly my mother. . She's already spinning in her grave due to the state of the house, this would spin her up to a 1.21 GigaWatts.

Just worked out that in five weeks, we’ll be halfway through the solar year, having passed the Summer Solstice. Where does the time go?

Tonight I continued reading The Middle Kingdoms. Turns out Europe was totally disorganised during the first millennium. Also, the Cyrillic alphabet was invented by a chap called Cyril as part of a programme of converting Bulgarians to Orthodox Christianity

Monday again tomorrow. Ah well, at least next week is a Bank Holiday

To go with the latter, I started watching the first episode of the new series of Surgeons: At the Edge of Life on iPlayer. This is usually fine but on this occasion, I did find the sight of a scalpel cutting into a blue-dyed penis to be mildly off-putting

Took ghastly ll3 to a car boot this morning. Total waste of time. Advert said they ran until 1pm but they had mostly packed up when we got there just before 11.
PS Checked the Eurovision winner online just now, Gordon Bennet, modern music is such total ****.

Sunny with occasional wisps again. Currently 18 degrees with a high of 19 expected. If yesterday is anything to buy that'll be a 'feels like' 25 by this afternoon. Barometer up to 1017 mBar.

This morning I had a hankering for churros so we went to a local cafe which has a bit of a reputation for them. sadly they were having a bit of a technical issue so the churros were takeaway only. Still very good but that meant we then had to find somewhere to get a coffee. We ended up in a modern coffee shop and thus had our first 'bad' coffee of the trip (we're not fans of modern roasts).

I see the UK got its usual Eurovision result.
