    Another week done!

Lunch was nothing, because I went and did the shopping at Not-as-Big Sainsbury's. I thought I’d have time to grab a quick bite when I got back, but the journey out was initially slow because, it transpired, of a fender-bender about a mile down the main road, and then it turned out the roadworks on the dual carriageway have got even worse. But I kept myself going with a few ginger nuts and coffee during the developer huddle mid-afternoon

There were a few stray spots of rain as I trundled the shopping back to the car, but it held off pouring until I was home. There’s been a number of showers, some quite heavy, and it looks as if there’ll be another soon

Lovely flight with Air Baltic, superb service.

First impressions of Tallinn are good. Got soaked walking around the old town.

I don't mean to boast, but I've just ordered 1000l of oil.

Mahjongy thing this morning (I came last - bah!) followed by visit to a neighbour to see her portrait on the wall. Nice quirky garden they've got, mine is too boring. Supposed to be 60% chance of rain this afternoon.

Hung the washing out in the clear blue skies about 10 mins ago, grabbed a coffee and sat down at my desk just as a very heavy shower started.
Washing will remain out now as I can't be bothered to bring it in, spin it and hang it out again.

    Morning.

    Thursday?

    Damp.

Lots of cloud with blue bits.

    Wanly sunny.

22.1 deg in here, 23 deg in the kitchen, 21 in the leanto, 17 out the back.

998 mBar, 29.47 in Hg, 748.6 Torr, 14.4747 psi, (up from 997.5 last night), 62% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 2nd of April 2020, between 21:37 and 21:50, Brillo posted. A lot.

On the way to bed last night I noticed some activity on the road outside: Fight! Fight! I thought, but no, it was some young persons about to drive off somewhere and it was raining. .

Entertainment: the bit of Bab5 I didn't watch last night.

Walk (abbreviated, 3 miles) walked in the intermittent deluge with some sun thrown in for good measure.

Lunch: brunch. Entertainment: Sky Arts: Art in Film: British Stars from Alma Taylor (no I'd never heard of her either) to Michael Caine and Mr Connery.

Expedition Unknown: off down volcanic caves in Iceland. Sounds like a very bad idea to me.

    Am Dro.

Jack Hargreaves Old Country. Any odds on killing things today? Nothing killed, he took his new horse & cart along the old drovers' road/high road along the top of the ridge.

Tea: baked spud & baked beans. Nice enough. Entertainment: PM <click> Blazian UFO bollox <click even faster: watched it before quite recently and it was crap then>

There's the sound of sommat heavy overhead but FR24 isn't showing anything.

Morning all, Roissy calling, local time 0914 CEST

Sunny with lumps of fluff. Currently 17 degrees with a high of 24 expected. There may be some showers. Barometer at 1010 mBar.

    Sunrise 06:49; Sunset 20:56 CEST

So we made it to Paris. HWMBO arranged us a taxi to the airport, rather than our usual Lizzy Line journey, and swapped seats with me on the plane so I could sleep easier on the flight. Our airport hotel had the room ready so I went to bed for an hour. I felt much better after that so we stuck with our original plans of taking the RER into the city for dinner. I didn't have a huge appetite but I managed. Slept very well and, although still fuzzy headed, am definitely more functional.

Today we are heading to Tallinn, flying Air Baltic for the first time. We are currently in the Extime lounge in CDG 2BD and it's very nice.

    Morning denizens

It’s a bit grey out today, at least so far. There doesn’t seem to have been any overnight rain of note, but there’s a fair chance of some this afternoon. It’s currently 15°C and the day’s predicted high is 19°, below 20° for the first time in a bit, while the barometers are down a touch more at 991/999mB

    Thursday!

Tonight’s reading has been more of Station Eleven. I’m really enjoying this one. It was adapted into a TV series by HBO, so I’ll watch that at some point too

Earlier, this evening’s impulse purchases were Threads and The War Game on 4K UHD Blu-ray, newly scanned from the original 16mm films and just released by some outfit in the USA

    Thursday tomorrow!

    Goodnight all

Tea has been pork steaks with chips and beans. Very nice

This was accompanied by Emergency 24/7 on iPlayer, which is basically the BBC’s version of 24 Hours in A&E

It’s looking quite Simpsonesque out now. There was supposed to have been some drizzle this afternoon, but I think we’ll need more than that. The resident magpies seemed to be having a bit more luck pecking around down on the lawn though

And this morning, there was an invasion by a flock of young magpies! I couldn’t count them all as they kept ditzing around, but there were ten or a dozen of them. They didn’t stay long - just worked their way across the lawns, chasing each other, before heading through the gap between the adjacent and opposite blocks, presumably on their way to the extensive gardens of the big houses in that direction

Lunch today was a ham toastie

This morning was the fortnightly meetings. Luckily, there’s so little left to do that we were able once again to roll the retrospective and the planning into one and cancel the afternoon planning session. It looks like I’ll be able to start gradually moving over to other work alongside this before the end of the month

I was feeling like I had a touch of hay fever this afternoon, so I didn’t get as far as I would have liked with the odd bug I’m tracking down. But I got far enough to give myself a good starting point for tomorrow

Group walk followed by pub then book club later. Can't really get into books anymore. Rain last night/this morning seemed to be enough to make a difference, puddles on the patio and stream passed during walk had a fair flow.
