12 months in Edinburgh - just waiting on the formal offer which should be sometime today/tomorrow. Unfortunately its no longer commutable, but comes with a hefty day rate increase to more than cover the costs.
I'll be looking to rent a flat to bring the costs down.
Exactly what I did BB - I got a nice flat out by Portobello, on a bus route, lovely 2 bedroom place for about £700 per month in 2012. I much preferred it to hotel living. Don't be afraid to look on the outskirts of Edinburgh, there are numerous bus routes into town.

The whole thing was done off the back of a telephone interview and my references. I'm meeting with folks from the agency to verify that I don't have 2 heads etc.
I'm not counting my chickens yet - hence a probable boomed. These are future chikens I'm estimating!
