The video makes this sound far easier than it really is. You can't actually drink what comes out the other end straight away.

This basically automates the mashing process, 'simulates' a boil with the hops, and pumping liquids around until you've got wort in the fermenter. There is still a lot to do after that which it doesn't do such as chill the wort, re-hydrate and add the yeast, control and monitor the fermentation, dropping into a fresh keg, and in this case you need to own a kegregator with all of the CO2 regulators, gas cylinder and tap to dispense. All of which need to be aggressively sterilised between uses.

To be fair the mash is a pain in the ass and something like this would be useful, as the temperature needs to be spot on and you need to hold it there for over an hour. Its one of those things where you need to calculate your starting water temperature required to mix with so many grammes of grain at room temperature to hit the sweet spot.

    pah!.. automated brewery my arse.

Closer to an Espresso machine for Beer. You can still make lots of great coffee and experiment with roasts and beans and brew times but know you'll get a consistent result every time and replicate the really good ones on demand.

They should design a bolt on distilling unit, to make proper hooch.

We would love to. It would heat water faster and save time on the process. Unfortunately there are a wide range of regulatory and other issues we would have to deal with before shipping world wide. We hope to get there, but its not going to be until after our Kickstarter campaign.
    Bah!!

I saw that when it was first announced but there wasn't any international options so didn't mention it.

Now there is and I'm tempted but at £1200 not that interested....
