If it is the two people suggested, it also reflects badly on Cameron: he was planning to appoint somebody else, but allowed the red-headed vixen to pretty much order him to give the job to Coulson if he wanted News International to stay on side.
That can be seen as just the kind of grubby deal that politicians of any party have to do, but if it turns out she was actually manipulating him to get her bit on the side a cushy number, it makes Cameron look like a complete sucker who let himself be played for a fool. Not a good look for a Prime Minister

If it is those two people involved, then probably a simple case of sub judice - they have been charged with an offence and are awaiting trial - that alone prevents a lot of reporting.
