The normal office conversation of “what are you doing tonight” started,
ME: “I’m off to a gig tonight”
MUPPET: “oh that’s nice, who are you seeing”
ME: “band called Ultravox”
MUPPET: “Ohh I know them, they be that new dance band int they”
ME: walks off
Serious question (thinking back to my youth in the early 80's). Why did the girlies like Sylvian ? Was it because he looked like a girl, or at least had quite feminine features ?
I had to start 'liking' Ultravox around 1980 to assist with getting the knickers of a girl I was seeing at the time.
It wasn't that unpleasant an experience (Ultravox and getting the knickers off the girl). Unfortunately, after a while she started a craze for 'Japan' and they were ******* awful, with the exception of one or two...no, one track.
