Oh olympics. I thought I clicked on the "Now we know who took that Croydon schoolgirl" thread. I get confused these days. Maybe we should have a "post responses in the wrong thread" week.

When I started this thread I was only talking about the Olympic coverage.

We've been over all the political stuff many times before.

I stopped watching the BBC (and all broadcast tv) and stopped paying the TV license in 2008. I havent missed it, and I feel better not funding the state indoctrination channel. Its also great I dont get bombarded by things I dont give a toss about, it doesnt improve my life knowing about some dead little girl, or an earthquake in Iran (as two examples off the Sky News website)

The BBC is obviously anti-Christian (I dont believe in it myself, but this is the history of our county and a massive part of why our society was formed and why are values are what they are) , pro immigration, socialist, pro gay, pro multiculturalism. It shouldnt be pro anything, it should be totally neutral.

There's loads of examples on this blog for those only just starting to wake up.

    Biased BBC -

Edit. I seem to have echoed HyperD's post without even reading it.

Overall, the BBC is systemically biased towards a progressive liberal viewpoint, probably more to do with the make-up and culture of the people that work there, than any great conspiracy. As the old joke goes, the BBC's conservative club is a very lonely club indeed.

There's no question about the bias, loads of examples of it, most of the subtle bias is by omission - even some of the bods at Biased BBC website have collected all sort of examples of this, although some of their stuff can be OTT.

Anyway, if you want to stand up to your principles and do something about it, cancel your telly tax direct debit, stick a "implied right of access denied" notice outside your door and bingo: either switch off the live broadcasts and do something more productive with your new life without telly, or take the blue pill and carry on absorbing the propaganda without forking out the £145.50 a year.

They can't both be correct. The most likely explanation is that the BBC is generally even-handed, and the perception that it supports whatever happens to be the other side for any given group is just an example of cherry-picking cases through confirmation bias.

If a politician of any persuasion refuses to be questioned in a public forum, it's inevitably because they have something to hide, no matter how much they may posture about principle.
